I have crocs & leggings & also eat my dinner/tea with a spoon because it's easier. I'm 64. 😬

I thought I was the only one! (60).

I wear kuddly sliders. They are brilliant for my arthritic hips, I know that sounds odd but they sort of cushion your feet and I assume they stop the shock waves on my hips. I wonder if crocs would be as good, I like the idea of them having the strap round the back.

Crocs Literides are amazing for cushioning feet.

Bigoldmoneypit · 29/06/2025 21:50

It’s harem style pants for me. I thought I’d look ridiculous as I’m tall and skinny but actually I think I look quite good! Better than the leggings I loved in as you can’t see how thin my legs are so I feel a bit more confident

BunnyLake · 29/06/2025 21:50

I’m wearing leggings right now. I’ve been wearing them almost daily for years, since jeans stopped being my go-to. The rules I have is, they mustn’t be thin enough to look like you’ve forgotten your skirt and tops must cover the bum. I love them. I don’t wear crocs but I do wear Sketchers.

MrsMoastyToasty · 29/06/2025 21:55

I'm partial to a "nice cotton nightie" (knee length) teamed with crocs. I don't know how DH can keep his hands off me.

Unorganisedchaos2 · 29/06/2025 21:58

Ha ha this was me; in a desperate attempt to seem even slightly less dated I moved to wide leg black bottoms (navy if Im really making an effort 😅) I have to admit they are much more flattering but I am very fat so anything that helps is a bonus.

I see plenty of people on the school run in skinny jeans that are a good 10 years younger than than me so I wouldn't worry yet

I ( haven't found because Im still unpacking months later) lost 3-4 lovely cotton nighties that were so cool in this weather, honestly if he can sleep in his pants Im not going to worry myself

OntheBorder1 · 29/06/2025 22:04

I'm wearing leggings at the moment - they are what I wear to bed in winter!

I'm not wearing them for day wear this time around, but live in merino trackpants - so comfortable and warm. I owned Crocs a few years ago, and am seriously considering getting another pair as I remember how ridiculously comfortable they were.

Oh, and I'm also wearing my Uggs, which I use as slippers.

Pajamas in public!😂

Check out the We Do Not Care Club on Facebook and other platforms. Started for women in menopause and perimenopause. It makes me laugh so hard that I fight not to wet myself (very on brand I might add).

Pajamas, crocs and true crime documentaries! We want to let the world know that we no longer care! 😂😂😂

Treesandsheepeverywhere · 29/06/2025 22:11

Get well soon OP.

OntheBorder1 · 29/06/2025 22:14

I've just remembered another confession. Those Uniqlo round bags made of nylon stuff - how I hated them with a passion and thought they were the ugliest things around. Last week I bought something very similar - and I love it!! I go out walking a lot and it's so easy to throw that on to carry my stuff around with me, so much lighter than anything else I carried, no more shoulder pain for me.

@RampantIvy

You: "I have always talked to cats 😁"

Ditto. I have shared my home(s)/house(s)/flats with one or two cats 1956-1973 and 1981-2023 ... and almost always accompanied by a dog too.

Cats are great sounding boards.

When my last cat (16yo) died in 2023, I chose to not replace her as, having reached my late 60s and the world bouncing back from COVID19, I realised there were fewer people who could/would mind my animal(s) for two or three weeks while I travelled.

Visiting morning magpies, kookaburras and rosellas sing nice songs but they fall short of patient cat listening skills.

I lost the last of my five boys nearly a year ago and decided not to get another one as I'm in my 60s and live alone with no family to look after a pet if anything happened to me.

However, one of my neighbour's cats has all but moved in (although I don't have to feed him), and I find myself feeding a stray cat and trying (but not succeeding) to tame him.

I think I would wither away if there were no cats at all in my life. And yes, of course I talk to them! Btw I love listening to magpies sing (NZ).

Okiedokie123 · 29/06/2025 22:22

Leggings are a habit I only discovered about a year ago. I wear them most days now (although not in this heat!)

Llama leisure leggings ftw. They are so comfy. Ive got them in 10+ different prints.
Crocs are a no from me though. Except for the cheapo pair I use in the kitchen when washing up or taking the bins out!

I always remember the day I first went out without tights.

It was that scorching summer of '76 and the bare legged feeling was absolute bliss.

Tights aren't worn in summer here generally, I've never worn them in the warmer months. I can still remember my late DM in her 80s advising a similar age friend who was complaining about the heat to go bare legged.

mindingmyown37 · 29/06/2025 22:33

Will quite happily mix brands, eg Nike and adidas if it means I’m comfortable.i also make sure everything is colour co ordinated because of the trauma as my mum dressing me in all sorts back in the 90’s 🫠

PersephoneSmith · 29/06/2025 22:43

I have these, are they acceptable? 😜

DollydaydreamTheThird · 29/06/2025 22:47

You ain't rockin if you ain't crockin. 😂
I have a lovely purple pair. I used them as my house shoes. I haven't quite stooped to wearing them on the school run.

alexalisten · 29/06/2025 15:29

No not crocs 🙉

I’m getting myself some crocs. All the kids in my nursery wear them, and I feel a bit left out.

Good gads!

They’re… erm…. 😬

5128gap · 29/06/2025 22:53

I seem to have developed a compulsion to start sentences with "Well, when I was young..." or "I remember when..." with a critical tone and a slight pursing of the lips. I haven't said "the world's gone mad" out loud yet. But it won't be long.

Xmasbaby11 · 29/06/2025 22:53

I wish I was slim enough to wear leggings but size 22 with chunky legs..I never wear leggings even for exercise. in winter I lived in joggers around the house and have to force myself into cords / jeans to leave the house.

I have crocs but they are just for the garden or swimming pool. I don't find them comfy for walking far in as they are so plasticky.

Oh God that's me paticularly the true crime documentaries I'm obsessed 🙈

Tapoopoo · 30/06/2025 06:35

I have some cheap crocs from shoe zone (bought for camping). They are not particularly comfy and make my feet smell. Are proper crocs that different?

Yes! They're a completely different makeup of material that only crocs are allowed to use.

Even in the late nineties (maybe into early noughties) my work dress code was either tights or tanned legs with heeled court shoes when wearing a skirt. My dm (born in the 50’s) definitely considered bare legs to be unprofessional.

I worked in the lighting department of BHS during the hot summer of 1976 and we weren't allowed to have bare legs.
