New colleague staring at my cleavage- is this my fault ?

I sometimes wear tops that show some cleavage. It’s hard to avoid in most tops that aren’t super high cut.

I notice men sometimes look. But today in a meeting, a man did not stop staring.

his gaze was fixed the entire time he was talking to me. It was extremely uncomfortable.

I somehow feel it’s my fault this happened. But I really love this top and I don’t think it’s obscene. I find it hard to avoid showing some cleavage, especially in summer. It just suits my shape somehow.

I’ll post a pic of the top if it will let me.

Rubbish. I have FF boobs and manage to get through my working days without either flashing 30 children loads of cleavage or wearing super high cut tops. Just pick something in the middle where your boobs aren't showing.

I would absolutely wear a v-neck top or dress but I'd wear a tight vest top under it. That v is very low-there is no need to wear clothes like that for work.

dtarer · 26/06/2025 20:44

I wasn’t gona post a pic of myself. So I found the pic from where I got it. It’s not how it looks on me.

Is that inappropriate for work?

Yes.

MarxistMags · 26/06/2025 20:44

It's a lovely top, but more suitable for going out on the pull !

Hotflushesandchilblains · 26/06/2025 20:45

He should not have been staring for sure. But cleavage is not appropriate at work. Neither are spagetti straps, seeing bra straps around the edges of clothing or clothes so tight you cant pinch an inch of fabric on each side.

godmum56 · 26/06/2025 20:45

hang on.....didn't we have exactly this post a couple of weeks ago?

JackieWilsonsaiditstimeforbedlittleone · 26/06/2025 20:45

Unless you asked him to look at your cleavage it is not your fault.

icelolly12 · 26/06/2025 20:46

No one would wear that style top where I work, it is extremely unprofessional to reveal that amount of skin. I would look myself as would most people. Yes creeper was wrong to stare but you're not helping yourself by having half your boobs on show.

Hoogey · 26/06/2025 20:46

dtarer · 26/06/2025 19:49

Is that inappropriate for work?

Yes it is. Its a going out top.

SusieLawson · 26/06/2025 20:47

That's not a bit of cleavage. The V goes as low as under the bust.

JLou08 · 26/06/2025 20:47

He was wrong for staring.
You were wrong for showing cleavage at work. It's not professional at all. I've not witnessed anyone do it in my office. I have blouses like what you are wearing, I put a matching vest top underneath so nothing shows. I have the adjustable strap vest tops so can tighten the straps to ensure everything is covered.

Blinkingbother · 26/06/2025 20:47

I’m afraid I’m also in the it’s not a suitable top to wear at work camp.

Boliviabae · 26/06/2025 20:48

Breasts can be hard to hide sometimes.

I dont wear any low v necks that actually show skin.

But i have large boobs.

If i wear a highneck jumper, men still look, because you can clearly see the outline of my boobs.

It would be like if men wore leggings and we could clearly see the outline of their penis

Just seeing the outline of our breasts, gets them aroused.

dtarer · 26/06/2025 19:49

Is that inappropriate for work?

@dtarer definitely not suitable for work!!

Butchyrestingface · 26/06/2025 20:51

This looks like same model from a slightly more face-on view.

Is that the level of décolletage you're showing, @dtarer ?

Mothership4two · 26/06/2025 20:51

Obviously, no he should not be staring at your cleavage.

Personally I think that top is more appropriate to an evening out, but it's not exactly Madonna in her hey day either. I don't think you need to wear polo neck tops or vests - unless you work in a maximum security prison? Some middle ground.

I am ample in that area and hate it when some men can't look you in the eyes even when 'they' are covered up. Ick

OriginalUsername2 · 26/06/2025 20:51

Maybe avoid v-necks at least. That’s quite a bit of skin on show for an office. That’s more of a going out for drinks top.

Jigaliga · 26/06/2025 20:51

I mean if a man wore a skin tight top i probably wouldn't be able to help staring at his abs

dmboot1 · 26/06/2025 20:52

Please, put them away!

TheyFuckYouUpYourMamAndDad · 26/06/2025 20:52

Fuck me! I would be sent home if I turned up wearing this!

Also….this is 100% a troll post.

Chipsahoy · 26/06/2025 20:53

It’s a beautiful top for anywhere but work. It’s not a work appropriate top.

ChocolateCinderToffee · 26/06/2025 20:53

I used to have a colleague who spent 121s staring at my breasts, even though I wore shirts buttoned up to the neck. Creepy guys will do this whether they can see your cleavage or not. I'd call him out on this - I did make it clear to the guy that was doing it to me that I found it unacceptable.

Cucy · 26/06/2025 20:54

dtarer · 26/06/2025 20:34

It doesn’t look as booby on me, as my boobs are not as big. That’s all I can say in my defence. It closes more and isn’t as deep cut on me.

What was the point in posting that pic then.

Thats like me posting a pic of a knee length skirt on someone who is 4ft and asking if it’s too short when you’re 6ft.

You need to post a pic of you wearing the top or take the advice on here that it is not work appropriate.

Devianinc · 26/06/2025 20:55

dtarer · 26/06/2025 19:49

Is that inappropriate for work?

No, and I wish I looked like that in a top but I don’t. You are well endowed, the only way to stop that is to where turtlenecks and that’s just ridiculous. That’s a pretty blouse and it looks nice on you.

Alltheyellowbirds · 26/06/2025 20:55

Came to say his fault, but then saw the pic. That is an extremely low cut top and I wouldn’t wear it to work without a vest under it.

I imagine when you’re sitting down in a meeting it probably looks even more cleavagey than in the pic too.
