Not sausage, but munchkin, chicken pumpkin ,sweetpea.

Silly sausage
Cheeky monkey
Little monkey
Munchin
Pumpkin
Sweetpea/Sweetie
Hunnybun
Petal
Madam

Saves me having to explain why I call everyone by the first cat's name. Even the second cat gets called the first cat's name (or any of the above) 😬 It's not dementia, honest!

crumblingschools · 24/06/2025 14:57

You are reading far to much in to it @Fragmentedbrain I've only ever seen it used as a term of endearment

SouthLondonMum22 · 24/06/2025 14:57

DS is 2.5 and our thing is calling each other food names. So I might call him my pudding and the other day he called me his carrot and spent approx 45 minutes laughing hysterically about it. 😂

LimeLime · 24/06/2025 14:58

My daughter is sausage even at 36. Also babby.

SporadicMincePieMuncher · 24/06/2025 15:00

Sausage, chicken little, hen, sprout, bunny, and possibly the worst because it references a traumatised violent film character, pudding! Sure there must be others I have forgotten about too

Unorganisedchaos2 · 24/06/2025 15:00

I've just been reminded of an old colleague, who was Welsh and past retirement age for context, she always called me "chucky egg" - never worked out where that came from

SatsumaDog · 24/06/2025 15:01

Yes, amongst other silly terms of endearment. I think it’s a fairly normal thing to do?

Notmycircusnotmyotter · 24/06/2025 15:02

One is cow
one is chicken - which becomes chicken cottage or chicken liver perfect 😂
both occasionally monkey
somerimes saucisson

My grandparents were Welsh and my Nana used to say that too.

Lulubo1 · 24/06/2025 15:02

DH calls DD "pumpkin" or "silly goose"

Tiredofwhataboutery · 24/06/2025 15:03

I have a lamb chop and a biscuit.

I know a child called rose whose dad calls her bud which is cute.

80smonster · 24/06/2025 15:04

Love sausage, pickle, pudding and dumpling. Also bear and chicken. These are presumably very similar to the French calling kids cherry?

Sayshesheshe · 24/06/2025 15:04

the baby gets called pickle and monkey more than their actual name.

PothasProblem · 24/06/2025 15:05

Sausage, or Ma petite cabbage if I'm feeling posh (yes I'm aware the Frenglish here is very wrong 😂 does that make it worse than Sausage? )

Mintsj · 24/06/2025 15:05

Yep and I call my dog it. Kids adults as well.

80smonster · 24/06/2025 15:06

Mintsj · 24/06/2025 15:05

Yep and I call my dog it. Kids adults as well.

Same for us and the cat, he gets the same pet names.

Toscanini · 24/06/2025 15:06

I just yell

“Oi Oi Saveloy!” at literally everyone I know.

Would you find me annoying?

sarahbear87 · 24/06/2025 15:06

Oh dear I call my kids sausage, chicken, monkey ,munchkin, bubala amongst other pet names. they don't seem to mind but you would prob hate me in real life op 😂

KitKatKathy · 24/06/2025 15:07

My Dad would always call me Chubbs (as in Chubby) I think I would have preferred Sausage....

GonnaeNoDaeThatJustGonnaeNo · 24/06/2025 15:08

Sausage
silly sausage
pudding
biscuit
lamp chop
crumpet
honey
sugar

plus animal names too

Goldbar · 24/06/2025 15:09

Not "sausage" but both of mine run to being hot and sweaty. So I've been calling them my "two little hotdogs" this past hot spell and taking them home to be hosed down in the garden.

OldFamilyTable · 24/06/2025 13:52

My middle son is a " moomin , mooms, moos" any variations of

WeAllLikeVindaloo · 24/06/2025 15:09

We are a “saus” household

InterestedDad37 · 24/06/2025 15:09

I occasionally use it (and other terms of endearment) for my kids, who are 31, 28 and 26 years old 😂😂😂

Edenmum2 · 24/06/2025 15:10

I call mine piggy…so….
