Why is it fair that Scottish carers get more carers allowance than English carers?

With the carers supplement they get twice a year, it boils down to just over £11 a week more than English carers. They're all doing the same old slog, so why is it fair.
I am caring for 2 people, it is hard going. I only get carers for 1 though as that is how the system works. Ive just found out that Scottish carers get a supplement twice a year, lucky ducks. Well sort of, better than nowt.
So my question is, why? I thought we were one nation. Am I being unreasonable here.

Welcome to socialist Scotland. Until the next election anyway.

My goodness I hope they get voted out. They’re so embarrassingly inept. So lacking in intelligence and common sense. It’s just shameful. They get £2k more to spend on every man woman and child than in England, and yet still somehow we manage to have worse public services.

Maybe if England hadn't voted for fourteen years of Tory rule it wouldn't be that way. I appreciate this is not your fault and is probably a great source of frustration if you're not a Tory voter yourself, but the reality is England trends more right wing than Scotland and as a result has a worse societal safety net.

We do pay higher taxes in Scotland, too.

It’s a decision taken by the Scottish government. If you want more money complain to your politicians rather than complaining about Scotland.

I’d rather have socialist Scotland (which isn't socialist by the way) that the Tory-lites down south.

We also have a lower rate of 19% for low earners.

It's what the Scottish people voted for. If you want that in England, you need to vote for it!

I pay a fuck of a lot more tax than I would if I lived in England. How is that fair?

You'll be thankful if you or any family members need personal care in the future.

Scotland also gets free prescriptions, free university tuition, baby boxes and free water. Some of us do pay higher income tax, though. Devolution means that there are some significant differences between how England and Scotland are run.

YANBU to feel your carers' allowance is inadequate. It is, and should be higher.

Edited

We dont' get free water, water and waste water are separate charges on our council tax bills. In my region, the charge for water and waste water ranges between £400 annd £1100 per year. We don't pay bills to private companies or have water meters but we still pay!

I think NI might have free water, but happy to be corrected if that is not true.

With the Barnett Formula, they receive more money from central government, for each individual person. They are also running up a much higher debt, which is pretty shocking.
