Deliberately exposing children to sexual behaviour is classed as child sex abuse. If they can see or hear you having sex and you’re making no efforts to shield them from it, you’re sexually abusing them.

👏🏻 thank you for this! From somebody who was exposed to sex at a very young age. I knew what they were doing as young as 6 because I’d seen it and heard it.

It’s vile, put a lock on your bedroom door so no accidental walk ins and stop screaming, I really refuse to believe that people HAVE to be loud/screeching.

Well, this is extreme. Yes, them seeing you have sex is extremely wrong. But I’m pretty sure lots of couples who have children and still have an active sex life have probably been overheard at one point. No, I don’t mean on purpose!

We were having sex one night at around 1am so our kids were asleep in bed. We have a slip bolt on our bedroom door to prevent them walking in. Our 8 year old DD got out of bed without us hearing her to go to the bathroom. The next thing we know, she’s knocking on the bedroom door asking if everything is ok because she can ‘hear mummy breathing funny’. Not loud performative sex, just some heavy breathing/gasping and she overheard because she stood outside our locked bedroom door.

You can’t guarantee they’ll never overhear unless you have zero sex life or only do it when they’re not at home. This was a situation that seemed like we were in the clear to do it but got accidentally overheard, not exactly child abuse…

BigJohn2025 · 19/06/2025 21:48

They should try to be more discrete. Not everyone wants to know about their fun. I personally love listening to another couple get it on but I would not appreciate if I was entertaining relatives or if I still had children at home.

Or shout, ‘SHE’S FAKING IT’ really loudly, or ‘WRONG HOLE, TREVOR’.

Sorry, I posted that on the wrong reply lol

Tirednessismydefult · 19/06/2025 21:53

They have a donkey in the bedroom? Fucking perverts.

Record it and play it back to them whilst they are still at it! Imagine the confusion when they hear it

😂😂😂

Anyone else missing the laugh emoji? there are some hilarious replies on here. I had neighbours like this once, he was silent but she would gasp, scream and yell. Then they got married, had a baby and it stopped

Yes I’m missing the laugh emoji … and yes I had these same neighbours … never hear a peep anymore!! 😂😂

GarlicMile · 19/06/2025 22:16

I have been that neighbour and have received that note. Really embarrassing, I couldn't grovel enough.

I was 22 when I first discovered I have much better orgasms if I let my voice out. We lived in a back-to-back terrace. First warm Spring day, we were given a hearty round of applause by half the street. Equally embarrassing, but also very funny!

Luckily for the general public, I have no sex life any more, not even with myself. I do snore, talk and cough in my sleep, though. Christ, I hope I'm not going to get a note about that 😳

Write the note, OP!

The PP you quoted is talking about "deliberately exposing children to sexual behaviour" and "making no efforts to shield them from it" being abusive. It's literally there in black and white. You quoted it yourself. She's not talking about trying to be discreet but accidentally being overheard.

Play Father Ted’s My Lovely Horse very loudly on repeat.

THIS! Please do this! 🤣

Motheroffive999 · 19/06/2025 22:43

Years ago we would hear our neighbours ( block of flats) next door having sex around 7.30 am and then he would go to work and she would carry on by herself

You’re not cool you know.
Yes, sex is part of life, but so is consideration.

😂 whatever. I didn't do it to be cool.
I was just giving it from the other perspective.

I guess spontaneity don't come* to you often then.

It wasn't intentional.
It was a hot night and we were on a vibe and in our forties we did it when we could which wasn't mega often.

Orgasms are better when you open your mouth and let go of all your tension in your body.

*Pun totally intended.

k1233 · 19/06/2025 23:20

Maybe just yell out at the right moments "slap that arse" "ridem cowboy" "yeehaaa"

MusicMakesItAllBetter · 19/06/2025 23:21

Maowt · 19/06/2025 18:56

Having diarrhoea and vomiting is natural and a part of life (unfortunately). No one wants to hear other people doing those on a nice sunny day in their garden.

We weren't really thinking about anyone else when impulsivity took over tbh

AngelinaFibres · 19/06/2025 18:50

Grim, really grim

Thanks for your time

Isitsupposedtobethishard1 · 19/06/2025 23:24

You could play Tiptoe through the tulips really loud and it might be put them off!!

MusicMakesItAllBetter · 19/06/2025 23:28

Bumdrops · 19/06/2025 18:17

Exhibitionism is not cool !

use your volume control and stay in yer own lane - ugh

Well @Bumdrops we weren't expecting to have sex and I'm not sorry for enjoying it. The windows happened to be open because it was hot.
Neighbours looked me in the eye whenever I saw them next and no one looked embarrassed.

MusicMakesItAllBetter · 19/06/2025 23:39

The point of my comment was that in the heat of the moment, do you really stop to think of anything else other than the pleasure you are about to give and receive?
Sex isn't just for making babies and Sunday morning. Before I get jumped on 'm not saying they're bad things because they are not! And I truly believe that.
Sex is different for everyone and should be fulfilling with whomever is the consenting adult.
Me, I ike how my ADHD kicks in and I hyper focus and there are plenty others like me who don't stop to think, shit let's quickly close the windows.
Some people do get kicks from doing it on purpose but I'm not that person but neither am I embarrassed either.
Shit happens..

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 19/06/2025 23:46

Years ago we had neighbours like this (always in the summer with their windows wide open!) & they were so loud that our friends who lived across the road could hear them too.

One afternoon I just had enough of hearing "Oh Pam I'm coming argggh Pam I'm coming argggh" & "Oooooh Roger Ooooooooh Roger, Roger I love you"
(Names have been changed)

So I stuck Donna Summer's Greatest Hits on & played Hot Stuff & I Feel Love on repeat.
Whilst DH was shouting Yee Ha.

Never heard them again after this 😂

HevenlyMeS · 20/06/2025 00:03

Yes they'd quieten down if they've got some self respect or dignity
I'm wondering if they're actually the type to get some kicks from everyone hearing & it's what they're actually wishing for & loving some attention 💚

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 20/06/2025 00:12

Later on, we did find out that Roger was going deaf.

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 20/06/2025 00:30

Figcherry · 19/06/2025 19:01

If you hear the woman screaming just shout loudly
Dont worry madam, I’ve called the police.
They’ll think twice about being so noisy in future.

I actually laughed so loudly at this - brilliant 👏🏻 🤣

Alltheyellowbirds · 20/06/2025 00:38

I feel your pain. I live in a block of flats with a communal garden and a couple in one of the first floor flats has really loud sex with their window wide open when we’re all out there on sunny day. A few times they’ve even done it standing IN the window for us all to see. Goes on for hours too, and she in particular sounds like she’s having a really, really good time…

Mainly it just makes me feel like I’ve been sleeping with the wrong men all my life.
