The difference is that misogynistic men in our society are called out . Women are legally protected and women have agency and a voice .

There are many things wrong with our society and women still need to fight for their rights BUT it is ridiculous to say that our society is as misogynistic as the cultures some of the grooming gangs come from where misogynistic behaviour is protected by law.

@Fetaface can you see the difference @OpheliaWasntMad is referring to here?

Fetaface · 15/06/2025 17:19

Really I never knew that about Afghanistan! Well I never! You think that just because they do that there that groping and abusing women here is ok and we do not have a culture of treating females like shite here because you can talk about somewhere else that treats women badly?

We have women here who are not allowed to leave the house and told to cover up. It is normal to tell women to cover up - not their faces but it is common to tell females to cover up and be more modest etc. Stop dressing like a slut etc.

Women are groped ALL the fucking time so much so it is that common. It is the norm to be groped. 90% of girls in school have been sexually assaulted or harassed - so it is very much the norm here to treat females like shit starting in childhood and do those boys get away with it? Yes they do. They learn that from a young age they can do this and crack on.

Misogyny is so common here and takes many forms. Sad that you'd support men who in our culture promote this and live this way of treating women like shite and internalised misogyny is also a thing as is proof on here.

“Misogyny is so common here and takes many forms. Sad that you'd support men who in our culture promote this and live this way of treating women like shite and internalised misogyny is also a thing as is proof on here.”
This is an egregious misrepresentation ( lie) of what the pp said.

Again, the vast majority of grooming gangs are white. But absolutely no-one is interested in addressing that, and why those gangs exist.

I have a problem with this tunnel vision. These predators get away with it time and time again because people turn a blind eye. Russel Brand, Radio 1 DJs, Savile, the Church what they all have in common is people ignoring what's going on. These girls were failed by the agencies that were meant to be safeguarding them.

Ha ha ha ha! They are certainly not called out most of the time! They are starting to be but we are about 2 steps up the mountain on that one! If they were called out all the time then it wouldn't be a thing.

Women are legally protected on paper but if they speak out then they face issues as a result - usually assault or being labelled mental etc.

Yes I will say it. If you fail to see how our society was built on controlling women then you are part of the problem.

So on one on here is telling me I am wrong for speaking out about misogyny by white men on here and that my voice isn't trying to be silenced because I am saying things that people do not like to hear?

Oddly enough just as me and saraclara are experiencing here! Quite interesting how what I am saying happens, is happening.

I’m only on this thread because I was completely horrified at the way the state failed those abused girls .
So you are right that our society is far from perfect.
Pretending that our culture is equally as misogynistic as the culture of rural Pakistan is a ridiculous deflection.

Pakistani communities ( like the Catholic Church/ the BBC / the police and every other group that has been blind to abuse ) should take action in educating their young men / in reporting suspicious behaviour/ in speaking out .

I’m not sure what you’re referring to here but I’m wondering do you equate U.K. culture and sexism with the countries mentioned below, eg Afghanistan?

Fetaface · 15/06/2025 13:24

Give over! Abusers in British culture are not shunned or banished. Being accused of rape brings sympathy to the men as they cry they are falsely accused and it is the victim who is shunned and further abused for daring to accuse men of a crime.

Not men accused of the systematic grooming and rape of multiple prepubescent girls and sharing them with their uncle, brother, cousin, market stall holder next door and so forth. No doubt that we are no where near where we need to be with prosecutions, but yours if a fucking awful comparison and an attempt to deflect.

Misogyny is misogyny - hatred of women is hatred of women. You either hate them or you do not. You either respect them or you do not. There isn't a middle ground of respect women a little bit it is a do or not situation.

What are you doing to educate young boys in the white community about how not to sexually assault as right now they are the main perpetrators of sexual assault of girls in the UK? Do you think a society like the UK which was built on misogyny and control of women has suddenly removed hatred of women?

We have traditions like giving women away! Literal possessions handed over from one man to another and it is classed as a lovely tradition.

We have laws only just made in the last few years where until then it was fine to kill a woman and pretend it was a sex game gone wrong. Literally in the last 5 years this was legal to use 'rough sex' as a get out of jail free card and damn did it work!

Rape isn't an entry level crime and those who rape have a history of sex crimes as long as their arm where they have been routinely allowed and enabled to commit other crimes which empowered them to go onto other crimes.

Hatred of women is still hatred of women. Do you think there are levels of hatred? As in just hate women a little (UK) Hate women ish (Ireland) Hate women a lot (Pakistan) Hate women wholeheartedly (afghanistan)?

What level of hatred is the UK men at - what is the scale starting and ending at and what are the degrees of hatred?

Yes accused men - which is why we have young girls who have been arrested for false accusation when they report. Kids have been arrested for reporting rapes in the UK so absolutely men accused of this are supported by the system.

Or else why would girls be arrested when the man says "I had sex with a 14 year old" to the police but says it was consensual so she must be lying and then she gets arrested. A 14 year old cannot consent to sex. So of course those men were not supported in being allowed to walk free while the girls were arrested?

I could be hated in the UK or hated in Afghanistan. Both are hatred. The way men hate women is the same.

What differs is the level of power men have there not the level of hatred for women.

Men have more power to do as they please there. Our men used to have the same power if the same power was given to men here we'd be in the same situation as we have already experienced that here by men in the past.

So the hatred is still the same the world over, what is different is the amount of power.

Nope it isn't. It is what people are saying - that there is a lower level of hatred here than there. If so on what scale is the hatred based on?

Delusional take. Theorise away while children continue to be raped.

I'd choose neither. There is nowhere on this planet I would choose that would be free of hatred and abuse and rape of women or where those that do are held to account.

If you know of a place that meets this then do tell as right now no such place exists. I mean here we even have a quota on rape cases to actively let rapists walk free they are supported that much!

BINGO!! Knew someone would label me mental!

Just like the good old days! Any woman who speaks out about the white men are labelled as mental to silence! Absolutely hilarious.

Mate I got CSE changed from level 2 (family support) to level 4 (SS and police involvement) - what have you done?

Fuck all! Tried to silence victims of rape it seems!

Ah white men. Cannot be this supercilious about brown or muslim men. How strange that the "white men" countries are so far ahead on child and women protection while the "brown men" countries aren't doing so well?

I am a very deep brown myself, fyi.

Ah then again, you don't know me, what volunteer work I have done, how I have supported survivors of sexual crimes. This is not a competition between you and me but your aggression and defensiveness is quite telling.

Ok so your answer is nowhere. You do have to live somewhere even if you’d like to avoid the question.
