He has NO clue.

Watched his interview on breakfast tv, explaining away all the misunderstandings, jokes and social experiments he was involved in which resulted in his BBC contract 'not being renewed '.

He played all the cards, mental health, dead brother, context, editing.

Of course he was in the studio to promote his latest venture, hoping to drum up interest.

Why do so many people ruin the amazing chances they're given? Baffling.

I see you're happy there with your pitchfork so crack on. I never for a second expected to change your mind.

We are all getting the information we have from sources with skin in the game. That's reason for caution not certainty, surely?

HRTQueen · 15/06/2025 23:30

Did you miss the part where he was sacked ?

Pitchfork 🙄

@Romvalley Thank you for that. Hopefully it will give his 2 fans on this thread something to think about.

He sounds like a narcissist.

He could just not have made disgusting lewd remarks about women. Kept them in his head instead. Then he'd still have a career. It's not difficult so no I don't feel sorry for him.

The amount of middle aged men who think they have a right to make revolting comments about women makes me want to scream.

He's vile and I'm bored of hearing about male celebrities/public figures being outed for sexual harassment, creepy comments, assault, grooming minors etc. Not because I don't think they should face consequences and scrutiny for their shitty behaviour but because it's so widespread and expected. And because there will always be a group willing to defend them because we're just getting too woke now and blokes will be blokes.

Uricon2 · 16/06/2025 09:10

I've known plenty of people with MH issues. I've also known quite a few handsy " bantering" sex pests who push the boundaries a little bit further each time until someone stands up to them (thankfully easier now than 40 odd years ago) Strangely, there is no overlap between the 2 groups.

MH problems are not responsible for inappropriate and sexually harrassing behaviour and as has been pointed out, the complaints go beyond the two incidents that we know of on SCD.

I don't know who he is!! Am I getting old?

MasterBeth · 16/06/2025 09:11

So we don't believe the words that came out of her mouth, as standard?

If a friend came to us with a black eye and a husband with a history of violence, would we believe her unreservedly when she said she'd walked into a door?

The annoying opera singer with the twirly moustache on the ‘Go Compare’ ads.

😂 No, he’s Z list. Very few people knew who he was before Strictly.

It's bewildering to me that if I'm not willing to call him a predator then I'm a fan. There's a whole world of middle ground of opinion that people can't cope with. I've had more thoughtful and sensible discussions with my 9 year old, honestly.

Again, I can't take someone's written opinion on an anonymous forum as evidence for or against what Wynne is guilty of. What I am objecting to is people claiming to know the whole story, despite a lack of evidence. If you can't back up what you're saying then what you're saying is silly.

That's not the same thing is it.

You just prefer to believe the alternative.

Oh! Blimey! Thanks! I just assumed he was a random person who did that advert and then was never seen again! Had no idea he was an actual opera singer and he's still around!! Thanks, I'll have to look him up!

Everything I have said I have backed up.

If you want to give him the benefit of the doubt that’s up to you.

Resorting to a patronising response like you have just made to try and provoke though is extremely childish.

Rvethetgergwtbteh · 16/06/2025 09:43

@TheWonderhorse And also I feel I need to point out that beyond one poster in one comment, you are the only person who keeps repeatedly using the word predator.

Interesting posts Romvalley

again its calls into to question why the BBC will put viewing figures above integrity and more importantly keeping staff safe

His manipulation is becoming more and more transparent. The use of suffering from poor mh or having a diagnosis of depression/anxiety is used far to often to excuse or to divert attention from sexual predatory behaviour and bullying by men. Its classic manipulation tactics. He (along with a number of other high profile men) may suffer from depression/anxiety that does not excuse or give reason to explain his/their behaviour

TheWonderhorse · 16/06/2025 09:28

It's not exactly the same, no. It's a matter of degree. No-one is accusing Evans of being violent or aggressive. His "handsy" groping - that we all saw, live on TV, - is low-level, overly-familiar, tediously boring, entitled male bullshit.

But we all saw it! And we all saw the explanation video afterwards.

So, do I believe that Katya was telling the truth when she said it was all a pre-planned joke? No, I do not.

TwoBakedOnes · 16/06/2025 11:50

Maybe that's the crux of it - I do believe what Katya has (repeatedly) said, that it was pre-planned/agreed.

And I accept his explanations of his comments being out of context; so I don't think he's a creep.

Do I think he's behaved brilliantly? No. 😂

But the REAL creeps deserve judgement and punishment.

Uricon2 · 16/06/2025 11:51

Why was WE allowed to go on SCD after

"The MoS can instead disclose that BBC Wales staff raised the seven separate grievances between July 2023 and August 2024, including a period after Evans, 53, was approached to appear on last year's Strictly Come Dancing.
Four of the complaints were made before he joined Strictly, raising questions over why the dance show's producers signed him up.
Three more were made after he had been chosen for the show."

Yes, it's from the Mail but does anyone really think they're making it up out of nowhere?

I suppose we shouldn't be surprised about the BBC yet again getting it very badly wrong.

Goodness, I really must be out of touch. Yet another individual referenced in a thread whom I’m unaware of in any way. 😳

But whoever he may be, you don’t sound very sorry for him at all, OP.
