Does this reply sound OTT? Dating

Someone I'm dating, he messaged me about 7:30pm last night, and I didn't reply until 9am today, I got in late last night and just fell straight asleep.
We normally text every few hours, we send about 2 or 3 texts a day.

Anyway I messaged saying 'sorry for replying late, I just fell asleep last night' he replied saying 'aw it's ok, just as long as you're alright 🥰'.

Does that sound a bit OTT from him or is it just me overthinking it?

That sounds perfectly normal to me - sent a text, didn't get a reply, waited until you did reply and then said, thanks, glad you are ok - sounds perfectly normal.
Would you rather you woke up to 100 messages from him saying he is worried?

Yes. I thought it was a really sweet reply and I'm a cynic so I don't know what that makes you 😅. Maybe you have some bad experiences so you're seeing 🚩where there are none.

Yes, OTT.
The implication is that it is only appropriate to not instantly reply to his messages if you're not "alright", i.e you better have a good excuse for leaving him on read.
