To ask what one extinct thing you would bring back from your childhood?

By “thing” - I don’t mean people. I’m sure there are people from our childhoods that we would all want to bring back more than any “thing” in the world.

The thing that I would bring back would be tinned Spaghetti Hoops with Hotdogs in Smokey-Bacon Sauce by Heinz.

Wham bars

Oh I loved those! I've bought one of those boxes of 80s sweets, from Amazon. Wham bars are included. I would recommend them, as gifts to those of us, who miss days gone by.

I used mine last night for a cheese toastie. How the heck do you clean them! Great but not practical.

Mine has fixed hot plates. I give them a wipe with kitchen paper while still warm, to get rid of any melted cheese before it solidifies and sticks, and then use a hot soapy cloth to give it a good clean when cooled down. No one’s died yet so I’m thinking it’s clean enough.

My sister has one with removable hot plates that go in the dishwasher, I’ll be investing in one when this one dies.

Especially on public transport. I'm currently listening to a conversation about someone's vagina on speaker phone, a tiktok video and a drunk person singing. Yes before 9am.

I was recently on a 6 hour train journey, a woman across the seat from me spent the whole journey phoning family and friends to tell them, in great detail, about the bowel operation she had had the previous day. I could probably perform the surgery myself such was the level of detail. Longest 6 hours of my life.

Lucozade. Proper, full sugar stuff in the glass bottle wrapped in orange cellophane.

Everytime I am poorly, I miss being given a bottle of proper Lucozade to keep next to my bed.
