To ask what you think of Meghan and Harry's "bump dance" video?

comeandhaveteawithme · 05/06/2025 11:18

To mark Lilibet's 4th birthday, they've uploaded this video. I think it's cute and fun but the usual haters are out in force.

She clearly has a monitor on under her dress but people are claiming it's a pillow, and people are also claiming it's not possible to dance like that while heavily pregnant (it totally is, if you're in good shape)

Also the horrible comments from men saying she must have got a lot of practice in, giving lap dances on yachts

Don't really know what people's problem is with these two tbh.

It's harmless. The rabid Megan haters would complain the bloody woman breathes wrong. They are best ignored.

It is harmless. It should be something for them to enjoy together privately. It's just oversharing to another level. Cringeworthy.

Janiie · 05/06/2025 12:47

Wouldn't be too bad if they could actually dance a bit. It's like watching the weird Uncle desperately trying to look funny at a wedding night do.

Ukisgaslit · 05/06/2025 12:47

So no ‘cringes’ when Charles and William rip off public services?
No ‘cringes’ when Andrew is protected?
The Windsors are a corrupt disgrace - get worked up about that

BruhWhy · 05/06/2025 12:47

tHey WaNteD pRivaCyyy

Yes. On their terms. Which they now have. Why do people shout this like it's some elaborate gotcha.

Couldn't give a crap personally, the royal family aren't my thing but it's always bizarre to watch the vitriol pouring out of people about them, as though anything they do personally affects their lives. Can't you just treat them like any other celebrity couple and ignore them if they're not your cup of tea?

KT1113 · 05/06/2025 12:48

I am yet to go a day without seeing some sort of vitriol about MM online. I cannot for the life of me fathom having such hatred for someone you've never met and that doesn't know you exist.

This dance has been a viral trend online for years, but when she does it, its the height of self indulgence? I saw someone comment under the post "who cares when her kid was born" - well clearly you, youve taken time out of your day to comment. Not sure Kate gets the same level of loathing when she posts the photos shes taken of the kids on their birthdays.

Annoyeddd · 05/06/2025 12:48

She is lucky that she has time for all this dancing - most second or more time mums are rushing around trying to get the older children sorted, fed and looked after, waiting for DP to get themselves ready or even home from work, searching for car keys and change for parking before finally collapsing on the delivery room bed.

Ukisgaslit · 05/06/2025 12:49

The people repeating the propaganda are pawns who don’t realise that they can’t think for themselves
Harry’s departure and continued existence presents a real threat to the Windsors

They are throwing everything they have at him .

But they are even more disliked and ridiculed in the US than they are here? So your comment doesn't really make sense. Their move to the US has been a disaster for them, they thought they were going to take the world by storm as a much lauded and beloved power couple.

more disliked, Their move to the US has been a disaster for them says who?

That's your interpretation. Do you know them, or is that what they said in an interview? Please send the link if we missed it.

And at least they are free and not stuck with the nonsense here.
I don't know how bad it is to be caged in the UK with people trying to order you around, but Diana didn't give a happy account of her early years.

They use their fame to make a business out of it, good for them, why wouldn't they.

How on earth are those situations related to this video? Straw grasping.

HiRen · 05/06/2025 12:52

I think it’s evidence, if any more were required, that they have definitively turned their back on any future royal roles, themselves and their children!

Being royal is not fame, well not for Harry, anyway. Her time in Suits is another matter.

Well, I entirely agree, but that’s more a getting on the barricades, demos and lobbying parliament kind of emotion, rather than ‘God, that’s dorky.’

I think it should have stayed private. A personal video of having fun in that moment is sweet… having a public video of it is tacky and try hard.

People were asking why H is hated in the media . I’ve explained why - he’s a threat .
posters calling the videos a ‘disgrace’ need their moral compass fixed - we have financial greed corruption and worst of all child abuse protected by the Windsors - that’s the disgrace and it is 100% relevant

WilfredsPies · 05/06/2025 12:55

I don’t have any strong feelings about them one way or the other. Although I do think they spectacularly fucked up stepping back from public life. If they’d just faded into the background, I don’t think there’d be half as much dislike as there is towards them now. They’d probably find it easier to make money as well. There wasn’t a need for all of the announcements and the interviews and the book. I saw the video. I thought it was a bit twee but no more than if anyone else had done it. All that really stuck out was that Harry is a terrible dancer.

What I don’t like is how she gets the blame for Harry falling out with his family. Like she’s some sort of Svengali figure that could force him to leave his family against his will. He’s had people catering to his every whim since he was a small child. If he didn’t want to do something, I suspect he’d be very capable of saying so. And yet it’s her who largely gets the blame for stealing him away from William & Kate. Like he had no part to play in it.

Not when they're in hospital giving birth presumably. I have 4 children but managed to get 5 mins to myself to push a human out before I was back on it

rumblegrumble · 05/06/2025 12:57

It just seems very, very weird.

It's presumably supposed to be 'sexy' - she's acting like a mare in heat, and then he shuffles into sight with his hands cupping his crotch 🤢 just why oh why oh why would they think anyone would want to see this?!

It's completely normal to have a boogie with your husband, but why film it? And they're not dancing together, they're dancing at the camera... So this clearly isn't a spur of the moment bit of silliness, when a song you love comes on and you shimmy about the kitchen with your partner, giggling. They've deliberately set up a camera, picked a specific tune and are performing. But to who? To send to friends and family? I can't imagine even wanting to see my best friends grinding like this, ew! Or were they always planning to one day inflict it on the public, which begs the question - why?!

LittleHouseOnThePrarie · 05/06/2025 12:57

comeandhaveteawithme · 05/06/2025 11:25

Absolutely. It's weird, and makes me worry for the future of humanity, the way people just make up their minds on someone based on what the media tells them.

Are you serious @comeandhaveteawithme ?

It's not what 'the media' tell us - it's what THEY tell us!

Surely you watched Oprah and PH's interviews? And at least have heard of his book Spare and how he criticises his family.

They have made themselves unpopular by their behaviour.

How odd you don't see that.

Well I wouldn't have thought reaction to alleged greed, fraud and sexual assault, would be responded to with cringe. It might be met with disgust, so false equivalence. Why is Harry a threat? The worst he can possibly do has been done, for the world to see. Like his wife, he has stabbed his own father in the back - publicly.

3peassuit · 05/06/2025 12:58

I don’t think it’s a disgrace. It’s cringeworthy from anyone let alone a couple who have asked people to address them as sir and madam.

Yes, it’s not really a public video that speaks to the idea of ‘global thought leaders’.

Moonlightdust · 05/06/2025 12:58

Utterly cringey and puke provoking 🤮

seaelephant · 05/06/2025 12:59

I don't have any option towards the video or her as a person beyond admiring how she's able to so effortlessly make the most annoying people in society incandescent with rage

LittleHouseOnThePrarie · 05/06/2025 13:01

comeandhaveteawithme · 05/06/2025 12:53

Exactly

Oh this is silly.

Harry has made an idiot of himself numerous times, for example by exposing far too much that should not be in the public domain.

For example how many people he killed while in the Forces. Complete idiot- not done. Against all the rules of the Forces.

He's not the sharpest tool in the tool box by any stretch of the imagination, which is fine, if he keeps his mouth shut, but he just can't.
