To ask what you think of Meghan and Harry's "bump dance" video?

To mark Lilibet's 4th birthday, they've uploaded this video. I think it's cute and fun but the usual haters are out in force.

She clearly has a monitor on under her dress but people are claiming it's a pillow, and people are also claiming it's not possible to dance like that while heavily pregnant (it totally is, if you're in good shape)

Also the horrible comments from men saying she must have got a lot of practice in, giving lap dances on yachts

Don't really know what people's problem is with these two tbh.

There are literally thousands of random women sharing videos of them dancing online. Hundreds of thousands. Maybe millions, and they are everywhere. There are probably women posting on this thread who have shared a dancing video on tiktok. Meghan is just one of these random women, none of whom you have to watch.

You asked for our thoughts. Those are my thoughts.

SherlocksHome · 05/06/2025 13:41

I think she looks beautiful and is clearly a great dancer!

But in my opinion that video should be kept as a lovely private memory.

Also, I can’t get over calling her daughter Lilibet. Shockingly disrespectful to the QE2 and wildly inappropriate, imo.

My daughter is named after my Grandmother. It's not exactly an abnormal thing to do.

Calling people “thick as shit” because they hold a different opinion to yours, especially when you have ask for their opinion is unkind.

As is said on here no one owns a name not even the late Queen ,they can call their daughter whatever they want but let's be honest they would have been slated whatever they had called her.

CurlewKate · 05/06/2025 13:55

It’s quite funny. I know lots of people who post that sort of stuff. Incidentally, surely the privacy thinking about consent? There’s a difference between choosing to post something yourself and other people publishing stuff about you. Doesn’t that apply to everyone, regardless of fame or infamy.

cumbriaisbest · 05/06/2025 13:57

cigarsmokingwoman · 05/06/2025 13:26

I wouldnt make a video like that public. Pregnancy and birth is private and should just be newborn pictures afterwards. No need for silly dances.

Plus her bump does look wierd!

Kind of interesting that isn't it? An innate need for nesting and privacy and dignity.

Lilibet was cringe. I don't think they woul dhave been slated for Mary for example?

But you asked for peoples thoughts and then seem to be having a go/getting uppity if people express they don’t like it. It just seemed an odd thing for you to ask peoples opinions and then disagree with everyone who thinks differently to you.

I couldn’t care one jot about the pair of them. I don’t hate them, or have any opinion of them at all infact. I simply find the video cringeworthy and would equally find anyone posting that sort of video cringeworthy.
That sort of showing off for attention by posting a silly dancing video is not my thing. It’s got nothing to do with the fact it’s Harry and Meghan doing it.

It's called conversation, discussion, healthy debate.. and it's perfectly natural and normal. How do your conversations go with people?

What are your thoughts?

They would have been people will have found some ridiculous reason to be offended by it

CantStopMoving · 05/06/2025 14:04

It’s a bit silly- honestly i think it’s a bit cringey for people in the their late 30s tbh. I think regardless of who is doing it there is going to be a difference of opinion about whether people think these dancey videos are cute or cringey. I definitely fall into the cringey camp but I do get some people like them!

I think the issue I have with it is that part of the contract to be Royal is the mystery and aloofness that comes with it. I don’t really like seeing member of the royal family with titles acting like celebrities or simply ordinary people I suppose. Harry has become a bit ‘common’ I guess which I know some people love about him But to me if you are a Prince, taking the role seriously is par for the course. I just feel Prince Harry would just be happier if they just renounced his titles and just became ordinary Harry Sussex and live a quiet life away from all of it. Then he can just do what he likes.

They would have been called boring and predictable. People said it about George. Only it would be hyped up and made worse because it's Meghan

I'm just explaining how conversation works because you seemed unaware and somewhat put out because I asked for people's thoughts and then expected to discuss each others thought after asking for them, like normal humans.

me too but I gave her the full name. It is a bit strange to use a pet name as your child’s full name. Actually I feel a bit sorry for lilibet as she was denied her grandmother’s full regal name. Using the nickname I felt was a bit insulting towards her.

Did Charles publicly humiliate his mother? Well aside from divorcing Diana.

Ok . You’ve clearly not read either book

Charles cooperated with at least two books which ‘stabbed his parents in the back’ as you put it .
He painted his father as a bully who mocked him and his mother as cold. I believe both are most likely true .

I have read Spare and all the palace machinations and infighting is happening just as he described it would
I hope he keeps going . It’s about time people saw through the lies we’re are fed about the Windsors .
They are a disgrace and it’s time they went . At the very least turn off the money tap - children and old people are suffering financially in this declining country and the Windsors don’t even have the decency to return the money they’ve stolen from our public services!
But yes let’s call a woman dancing in labour a ‘disgrace’

Btw a PP said the majority dislike Harry
Absolute lies - most particularly as we’ve never been asked ! And no- the paid for polls in tabloids do not count

I loved it and that’s a rare response from me for those two. It’s just so nice to see some positive portrayal of normal labour rather than the usual bone chilling terror and negativity that drives countless women to unnecessary elective sections (takes hat and coat and ducks on her way out)
