@JFDIYOLO

Paddington most definitely - but then I'm a girl so that's probably allowed
When the last Toy Story movie came out I planned to go and watch it on my own as my son had lost interest in it.
Sadly when I told a friend, she decided to tag along, and she brought another friend

Good luck with asking a random bloke why he's minding his own business watching a Disney film. With any luck, he's a black belt.

You'd hope...

"Further investigation" - wtf?

Ted27 · 03/06/2025 00:47

@BDG007

So who should investigate a man sitting in a seat, not next to anyone, for doing what you go to a cinema for ?

So you're condoning violence in a cinema in front of kids? nice

Dangermoo · 03/06/2025 00:48

BDG007 · 03/06/2025 00:38

How is it that loads of other threads on mumsnet are slagging men off for being perverts but when you see a grown man in a cinema on his own watching a kids film it's suddenly fine?

🙄 here comes the mansplaining bit

Would you be wary of a grown man on his own in a playground playing on the swings?

ahh the "mansplaining" comment. You mean, someone makes a good point that you can't respond to so you accuse them of "mansplaining"

You needn't worry, you wouldn't be there watching the film, would you.

steff13 · 03/06/2025 00:51

BDG007 · 03/06/2025 00:26

Most of the time I would agree but a grown man seeing a U rated film on his own is odd. It's worth of further investigation to see if he has a good reason for it.

It's not U-rated.

SnowFrogJelly · 03/06/2025 00:51

Leave him alone!

How is this even remotely similar? It's not.

🥱 coming on a predominantly female forum is your way of getting your kicks, isnt it? Good luck.

XenoBitch · 03/06/2025 00:54

OonaStubbs · 03/06/2025 00:38

Isn't there a Uc classification for films specifically for children and not for adults? Maybe unaccompanied adults could be banned from those but not for U films which appeal to children and adults alike?

Fucking hell
A 15 cert film does not mean only 15 year olds can see it... and the same applies to UC.... except there is not UC cert in the cinema anyway. It is U, and that means no restrictions...

BDG007 · 03/06/2025 00:56

steff13 · 03/06/2025 00:51

It's not U-rated.

Yes it is

XenoBitch · 03/06/2025 00:56

BDG007 · 03/06/2025 00:42

Personally I can't think of any good reason for a grown man to go to the cinema on their own to watch a U rated movie. If they're that desperate to see it they should stream it

I can. It is that they wanted to see the film. Easy.

XenoBitch · 03/06/2025 00:57

BDG007 · 03/06/2025 00:56

Yes it is

And U means it is suitable for all ages.
It does not mean it is for kids only.

What I mean is they should introduce UC in the cinema for films like Peppa pig. And unaccompanied Adults (male or female) should not be able to attend. But anyone should be able to attend regular "U" rated films. Which Lilo and Stitch is. Because it has appeal to adults as well as children.

A man being hysterical about another man watching a Disney film on his own, comes out with this corker.

FreezeDriedStrawberries · 03/06/2025 01:03

Oh, for crying out loud.. I'm middle aged and love going to the cinema by myself.
Do I give a shit if sad judgy people like yourself get upset by this?!
The only weird one in this situation is you judging and running to the internet about what someone else likes to do in their spare time.

Fuck me, I thought the Gestapo were long gone.
