Colleague made sarky comment about me re. GB News

1000 replies

OneStepBeyondd · 30/05/2025 22:21

Discussion at work earlier - does anyone watch the news. Another colleague and I said we don’t mind GB news on occasion to which someone said (directed at me) - ‘I didn’t have you down as one of them’ in a judgemental tone.

Is it me or is that a bit rude and unnecessary?

Replicating the ignorance of a Guardian reader? Absolutely.

There was me thinking you came up with that idea all by yourself when you're just copying it from some Guardian reader.🙄

It's up to you. No skin off my nose whether you stalk me on other threads or spend your evenings writing poetry in praise of me.

Awwwww

Not getting your point, I'm afraid.

FrazzledFTworkingMum · 01/06/2025 18:26

it's a fair comment. don't support rightwing nonsense please. I would have judged you too.

JHound · 01/06/2025 18:28

I would not have said it out loud but would definitely judge you.

Oh, I won't bother to stalk you, no need. I'm confident that I will be able to rely on you noisily announcing your service to humanity on any other threads where we might happen to coincide, so there is little danger of me missing any of your delightful pearls of wisdom.

As for writing poetry in praise of you, I would really love to oblige but, based on what I've seen to date, I'm rather short on inspiration at present.

Bye bye!

I can't stand GB news their a bunch of rascists simple as that. That weasel Kristen or whatever his name is winds me up. I'm always blocking their pages on social media. But for some reason their vids keep showing up in my feed. There's much better news channels to watch than that load of bollox.

So you’ve never seen it, but you assume people on MN are biased?!

Why on earth do you think it might be judged here?

Stupid post.

Accurate though.

Dangermoo · 01/06/2025 18:54

Is that something you've been hunting for since your last emoji on my replies to you? I would be pissed off if I were Fox on that one.

TooBigForMyBoots · 01/06/2025 19:06

No. It's something I hunted for to see if you were speaking from a place of knowledge or just spouting nonsense off the top of your head.

Turns out it was the latter.🙈

Bluesuedevest · 01/06/2025 19:07

That was launch night (four years ago) when you can expect a few teething troubles...

Serpentstooth · 01/06/2025 19:12

Schoolday tomorrow. Haven't you got some homework to be getting on with, frother? You should probably be marshalling your arguments for the debating society, see if you do better there.

Oh look it's the spelling police. They crawl out of the woodwork to pull whoever up on something they have misspelt. Is that the best you can come up with?

So his name is actually Patrick Christys is that good enough for you? Why don't you go and kiss his arse while you're at it? You obviously think so much of him.

Abitofalark · 01/06/2025 19:15

EasternStandard · 31/05/2025 21:14

This says something similar to you

In the UK, under the Equality Act 2010, "religion or belief" is a protected characteristic, meaning discrimination on the basis of it is illegal. While the law doesn't explicitly list religions or beliefs, it includes philosophical beliefs, and in some cases, this can extend to political views that meet the criteria of a philosophical belief.

The Equality Act applies in GB, not UK.
Northern Ireland has its own law, as discrimination and equality are 'transferred matters' - some is the same and some different from GB law. Its Fair Employment Act of 1976 prohibited discrimination on political or religious grounds, among other things.

So they spelt his name incorrectly. I agreed that was unacceptable. Do you want to go find a littany of grammatical and spelling errors from them, such as they're v their. You've obviously got time on your hands.

I would tell you if his arse was worth kissing if I knew who he was.

BIossomtoes · 01/06/2025 19:20

Or even a litany.

You are correct. Thumbs 👍

Topsyturvy78 · 01/06/2025 19:26

He's that painful to listen to. I've never paid my full attention to what he's even saying never mind what his name is. OneStepBeyond and Dangermoo should set up a little GB fan club. As they obviously think so highly of them.

Goodness no. I saw what the Jeremy Corbyn fan club looked like and it wasn't a pretty sight.
