I was having blood test yesterday and the phlebotomist said I had excellent veins. I’m not sure what makes veins excellent, but I was glad to hear it!

What’s the most random compliment you’ve ever received?

Lucky you! My veins always have doctors/nurses uttering under their breath 😂

weirdest compliment I’ve ever had was how I was a ‘good pusher’ during the birth of my first son!

😅
I Was told I "was made for babies" when I was giving birth.

I was told if I put a paper bag over my head I could be a page 3 model as I had such great boobs. It was quickly followed up with, “I said paper bag as I presume you wouldn’t want people knowing it was you” hmmmm

That I have a textbook cervix….whatever that means 😂

I was told the same when I had a colposcopy - it was beautifully circular apparently 🤣

Nevernottrying · 28/05/2025 23:54

Said by the gorgeous specialist , after my breast biopsy, You have young breasts ! The silver lining on a grim day. I was just on 50 and felt very flattered.

GreatestExpectations · 29/05/2025 00:07

A (much older) male colleague recently told me he “really admired how I do myself up” Still absolutely no idea how to take that…

Finteq · 29/05/2025 00:07

"Wow, you're English is really good! You've got no accent and I can understand what you're saying!"

🙄

VoodooQualities · 29/05/2025 00:08

Not random exactly but best and most memorable. TMI warning!

Very early on in our relationship I was having sex with my now-husband and he stopped, looked at me and told me I had the most beautiful eyes. I don't think my heart has ever beaten faster!!!

rosemarble · 29/05/2025 00:16

“You’re quite nice, actually”

trainedopossum · 29/05/2025 00:35

Someone was chatting with me and my mum about our heritage. He said to her, ‘Yes I can see that you’re of xyz extraction but where is her (my) father from? She (me) has Viking in her!’
The conversation moved on and I’ll never know what he meant.

steff13 · 29/05/2025 00:54

The dental assistant told me I'm a good salivator. I don't know if she meant it as a compliment, but I took it as one.

TomatoSandwiches · 29/05/2025 01:08

My cervix and veins are shy buggers unfortunately but I've been told more than a few times I'm the person they want around when shit hits the fan.

My brother told me my nipples were a good shape for breast feeding. Ughh wrong on do many levels, I felt like a cow

*I had just had DC1 and apparently my SIL had lots of problems breast feeding.

Edited

🥴
How would he know? 😷

MsAnnThropic · 29/05/2025 01:14

"what a beautiful little uterus"... From the sonogropher at my first baby scan... No one said that by baby number 4!!

novocaine4thesoul · 29/05/2025 01:14

From a massive Coronation Street fan. Came over on a train to say that I looked like Carla from Coronation Street. I was quite flattered, even though I do not look anything like her, apart from having dark hair. Followed by a later visit to my seat to say "You look like Hayley from Coronation Street", again, I look nothing like her, apart from having dark hair. Decided then that all references to my appearance and characters from Coronation Street were null and void.

A shop assistant once followed me out of a toy shop to compliment me on how polite and well behaved my young daughters were.

changedusername190 · 29/05/2025 02:28

In hospital i was desperate to wee and kept begging the nurse to take me or get a commode.
She was adamant i didn’t need it with a catheter so she stood me up holding the bag to reassure me.I was desperate and it just fell on the floor splashing everywhere. After sorting the floor she said youve got impressive muscles there.
I was just so broken not long out of a coma,my muscles had gone my brain was fried and here i was with my zimmer frame trying to walk a few metres with the physio. My target was to feed myself with a spoon
Still struggling now.

RobintheNun · 29/05/2025 02:36

That I have the best kind of ear wax😂 and also that I had a ‘very neat little bit’ of endometriosis so it was ‘lovely and easy to zap’.

PortillosRedTrousers · 29/05/2025 02:37

Waiting outside GCSE English lesson with the rest of the class, a male classmate said out loud, “you have got really small ears”. Thanks. I think?

”You have got lovely, straight toes” said quite often when having a pedicure. Ooook? I think most people have straight toes? I have never noticed mine being particularly straighter than anyone else’s.

GoFaster83 · 29/05/2025 02:37

At school, a girl who lived on a farm said to a townie, "you have eyes like a cow"
I also lived on a farm so I got that she meant big eyes with gorgeous lashes, but the girl from the town was horrified.

I was complemented on how clean my colon was during a colonoscopy 💅

Me too!

Wingedharpy · 29/05/2025 02:53

I, on the other hand, was told I had "very strange anatomy"! 😕

Franchisingentrepreneur · 29/05/2025 03:05

One of my son’s friends told me I have a nice arse.

VoltaireMittyDream · 29/05/2025 03:19

Post hysteroscopy I was complimented on my beautiful uterus.

I was also told I’d be a good Inuit, as I had short stubby fingers that would work efficiently in cold climates. This was false flattery, as my fingers are fucking freezing all year round, despite their short and stubby nature.

changedusernameforthis1 · 29/05/2025 03:27

Someone once told me they were surprised by my personality after getting to know me. I asked what they originally thought I'd be like. "Really stuck up and rude - but don't worry, you're not. And that's good."
Thanks, I think? 😂

"All went well, you were a pleasure to operate on." This was after having emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder. Not 100% sure he actually said that though. I do remember it, but I was in and out a lot at the time.
