To want to know why Imogen Poots broke up with James Norton

Obviously absolutely none of my business, but I don’t think anyone in my real life knows who these people are, so I’m sharing it here in case anyone shares my mini obsession.

Imogen Poots is a gorgeous 35 year old British actress who was engaged to James Norton (I’m guessing I don’t need to explain here who he is), they broke up in the last year or so and he’s indicated in interviews that it wasn’t his choice.

She’s suggested in past interviews that she wants children (which JN has also said he does). Definitely none of my business - but honestly if you were a 35 year old woman who wants kids and you were engaged to JAMES NORTON, would you break up with him?

He went to Ampleforth according to his Wikipedia entry. Is there seminary there for priests? I'm sure I went there on a school trip once as it's a really Catholic place. That would definitely influence you towards picking theology.

interestingly (to me) I know EXACTLY who James Norton is but had to look up Imogen Poots.

Is Imogen Poots really only 35? I seem to have been watching her in things for absolutely ages. I first saw her in ‘Bouquet of Barbed Wire’ (which is one of the worst dramas I’ve ever seen, btw) and that seems like decades ago.

Considering how beautiful she is and all the things she’s been in since I’m surprised she’s not more of a household name.

If I was based in England and my lover (no matter how hot) was based in the US, and they wanted me to move to the US, that would be a definite deal breaker for me.
I’d never leave England for the US.
Not even for Malibu or Beverly Hills or any other classy US city.
England is far superior.

He signed the open letter in support of trans rights (and against J K Rowling) after the Supreme Court ruling. I'm a JKR fan so went off him a bit when I heard that. Maybe his girlfriend did too?

I am currently rewatching The Fall , I had forgotten how twisty the plot is, brilliant stuff. Honestly, Jamie Dorian is phwar. Though of course I am only watching it to admire the twisty plot and to wonder how she got so many outfits into that tiny suitcase.

Only a wealthy and privileged person would pay money to learn it and get a degree out of it - to evidence achievement and apparently intelligence.
I would imagine theology at Cambridge would be similar to other humanities/ social sciences at Cambridge. Would it be different if he'd studied Philosophy? It's a similar type of subject. Not to mention we're talking about an actor here. Does it matter if he's ' intelligent' or not? Most actors are privileged, because the vast majority go to drama school, and most are public school educated, which costs £££. Not to mention being able to afford to have months of unemployment. He's not unusual.

He must be intelligent to get into Cambridge full stop irrespective of what he reads there!

It’s so weird that ppl on mumsnet of all places are admitting to finding the police-murdering, woman-beating, child-murdering-wannabee rapist character of his so hot and sexually attractive. Not James Norton but James Norton as Tommy-Lee Royce. And there will be many stalwart “LTB!!!!’s” among them for men who don’t pay for meals on first dates, who look at porn, visit strip clubs, shout when they’re frustrated etc…
