To want to know why Imogen Poots broke up with James Norton

Obviously absolutely none of my business, but I don’t think anyone in my real life knows who these people are, so I’m sharing it here in case anyone shares my mini obsession.

Imogen Poots is a gorgeous 35 year old British actress who was engaged to James Norton (I’m guessing I don’t need to explain here who he is), they broke up in the last year or so and he’s indicated in interviews that it wasn’t his choice.

She’s suggested in past interviews that she wants children (which JN has also said he does). Definitely none of my business - but honestly if you were a 35 year old woman who wants kids and you were engaged to JAMES NORTON, would you break up with him?

I had to google both of them but maybe he wees on the toilet seat or farts in bed? Maybe he’s really boring? Maybe she leaves dirty socks everywhere or has an obsession with frogs? Maybe she wears crocs?

Who knows or cares? Google says he just split from someone else. I reckon he farts in bed.

Where have you heard that @SpunkySquid? Obviously interviews are very curated, but I’d say he comes across as intelligent and nice and thoughtful to me. Though I’d tend to assume someone so good looking and successful from a young age has likely got a slightly more arrogant side than he lets on.

He’s always read as possibly gay to me too, but he was with Jessie Buckley for quite a while then Imogen, and I feel like neither of those women could be bothered with bearding so I’m assuming he isn’t.

I also wondered why they split last year when I read about it.

I’d love to know because:
a. I’m a nosey bitch and happy to admit that
b. There’s something about him that I’ve never been able to put my finger on, but I don’t think I like him, even though I don’t know him.

He played a gay character on stage (Jude in A Little Life), where he was flayed naked at every performance for 18 months. I read that it traumatised him for a while (probably not the gayness!). Maybe that's where you got the idea from though.

My friends son was on the train from York to Leeds with him in the same carriage. He was lovely and posed for photos and had a chat with them. This was just after Happy Valley finished.

Never heard of either of them but at 35 she must know her time is running out to have children so perhaps she decided he wasn’t the one she wanted to father her children.

My god he was so SO hot as Tommy Lee Royce. So hot. That's all I have to add.

I could imagine him being quite a serious and intense person which isn’t for everybody. I really had no idea he had been with Imogen Poots until this thread though!

He has a godly jawline but ever since I noticed his stance I just can’t unsee it so maybe Poots felt the same.

I Googled it (I loved Imogen poots in Vivarium and the Awkward Moment, James Norton is just meh) - seems their work schedules got in the way? I mean she’s doing more Hollywood movies whereas he’s only got a presence in the UK - imagine she’ll have a much bigger pool of men to choose from.

He’s just broken up with the 26 year old he dated after her and never been married so maybe he’s just not as interested in commitment as he says he is. I know women rave about him (i find him a bit horsey personally) but she’s gorgeous too so I imagine has no dearth of men pursuing her and doesn’t need to settle.

I feel a bit ick with myself about how much I fancy him as TLR as he's a truly dreadful person. But I also wanted to hug him in those final scenes with Catherine.

I do always think he's got lovely manners when I see him interviewed as himself...
