To want to know why Imogen Poots broke up with James Norton

Obviously absolutely none of my business, but I don’t think anyone in my real life knows who these people are, so I’m sharing it here in case anyone shares my mini obsession.

Imogen Poots is a gorgeous 35 year old British actress who was engaged to James Norton (I’m guessing I don’t need to explain here who he is), they broke up in the last year or so and he’s indicated in interviews that it wasn’t his choice.

She’s suggested in past interviews that she wants children (which JN has also said he does). Definitely none of my business - but honestly if you were a 35 year old woman who wants kids and you were engaged to JAMES NORTON, would you break up with him?

I know AIBU.

He could end up having Keith Allen as a FIL ...

I’m going to be honest, if those the photos of JN with LA were an accurate portrayal of how the night went, neither looked particularly happy.
They could, of course, just been a bit hacked off that their first date was being papped.

Back to IP, maybe she just got the ick. As hot as he is, we all know there is no going back after the ick.

Black grid means they are staged as they are set up by the actual celebrity!
i am not sure if it’s done for a bit of publicity if they have something coming out or to make it seem like they are dating. I don’t understand the celebrity world at all! Regardless, fancying someone from afar is never the same as being with them in reality as we can never imagine any flaws x

Thanks for posting! That’s an interesting interview. Interesting that he’s now saying he doesn’t feel the stress of doing ‘A Little Life’ was a factor in the split, previously he’d seemed to imply that it was, but maybe that was just how the interviewer presented the quote.

Personal taste I guess. Personally I’m more put off by men who think their masculinity hinges on what they wear, being sheeplike conventional isn’t masculine to me, and I find men who are anxious about anything they perceive as ‘gay’ particularly tiresome.

I think the pics of him in pink and holding flowers are interesting. Are they trying to semaphore that he’s gay/bi (as has been raised on here)?
or maybe just deliberately playing against his tortured and/or violent roles like Tommy Lee Royce or his Little Life role.

I think photoshoots like this are pretty standard for youngish male celebs at the moment. His Little Life/Bridgerton co-star Luke Thompson did a similar one wearing pink and holding flowers (scroll right) www.alexingramphoto.com/luke-thompson#0 I think it’s coming off the whole Harry Styles/Timothee Chalamet wave of male stars who find it cool to flirt with androgyny, not that there’s anything new about that. Ultimately he’s an actor/celebrity living in north London. If you want a North Sea oil rigger, you need to look elsewhere.

Oh wow - the Buddhism and the it’s all about the self and the journey of the self…argh! He sounds like he’s probably fairly dull IRL and that’s ok if that’s your cup of tea.
