To want my parcel - woman denying accepting it but I have a photo..

I ordered some stuff off sports direct (about £20 worth) and, because I haven’t ordered off there for a couple of years, stupidly got it sent to my old address which was stored on the web site. Yes I know it’s annoying and stupid so I don’t need that lecture.

So once I clocked on what had happened, I went round there to collect it - couple of days later. The woman who bought the house off me completely denies having received it, despite the courier’s photo showing it being accepted at the front door. I can see two sets of children’s feet at the door on the picture. I obviously recognise the doorstep - I lived there for nearly 20 years.

Please note, I did not shout or accuse, I was very polite, I said I was “puzzled” and that there must have been some sort of confusion but she was adamant she hadn’t had it. It was a shoe box sized parcel so not massive to store and not easy to lose either.

Do you clever lot have any idea if there’s anything I can do?

I half expected her to come to the door wearing my gym gear 😆

Erm, no thanks. I’m already well past the even mildly annoyed stage. And I think the stress she must’ve had from this is already enough.

Send her a shit 🤣

I've used this site before. It's legit and it comes from another country so very very unlikely that police would get involved 😅

I only know about this site because someone sent one to my sister 🤣

Wtaf.

I'd like to hope so. Certainly hope she will think twice before stealing other people's parcels. She probably thought she'd get away with it and you wouldn't follow it up but she must be pretty stupid to do it to it to the person she bought her house from and I bet underneath all the lies and deceit her husband isn't too impressed at the trouble she's brought to the door. Especially as she's implicated her own kids in her theft.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but I'd tell all your old neighbours what she did in case she takes parcels in for them then denies it.

As promised, an update. The police have closed the case because the delivery picture didn’t show the woman. Just the children. Got to give them credit, they tried their best.

Hmm I think that’s bad. That parcel went into her house and the photo proves it. Crime is legal now. If I don’t want to pay in Tesco, do I just get a child to steal the shopping?

I did think about it but I’m not really in touch with them and I don’t really want to go there tbh. Not only do I not want to see her but also it’s a 30 minute drive and I CBA. The moment has passed.

That’s not the point at all. There’s no evidence against this woman. If she denies it, there’s nothing to say she’s ever had it. Just that it was at her front door. She could say she wasn’t even in.

You are a far better person than me ., the moment would never pass for me. I’d make sure she knew that she might have got away with it but I know exactly what she is and so does everyone else.,

BitOutOfPractice · 28/08/2025 15:54

Well you obviously have more bandwidth than me for that level of fury. I’ve moved on. She’s had a massive fright and not a little inconvenience and that’s enough for me tbh.

Oh no it’s not fury, it’s just that I have strong morals and injustice is something that really riles me.

BitOutOfPractice · 28/08/2025 16:34

Trust me my morals are plenty strong. I just don’t think my morals will be served by trying to get revenge. I’m going with serene acceptance that I’ve done what I can.
