Customers think eggs keep moving location - been in the same place for 15 years

Work p/t for a supermarket for 19 years now. Most days we get customers say ‘I wish you stop moving the eggs’. The eggs have been in the same place for 15 years. I’m not the only colleague that hears this. We do say they have been there for 15 years. A colleague got married in the two weeks that the store was closed for the refit and that was when eggs moved and stayed.

I wish customers would stop falsely accusing that the eggs keep moving.

Having a look online at the categories.
Ocado has eggs in the fresh & chilled section "dairy and eggs", while jar olives turn up as "cooking ingredients" and chilled olives in "cooked meats, deli and dips".
Sainsbury's named the whole chilled section "Dairy, eggs and chilled", which bizarrely has "dairy & eggs", "cooked meats, olives & dips".
Waitrose chilled section starts strong with "milk, butter & eggs", then again puts olives in "cooked meats, deli & dips".
Asda has milk in the chilled category "milk, butter, cream & eggs" but olives are in their own "deli 3 for £6.98" section, a section that disappeared in some menus.

None of them seem to count olives as a fruit. Looks like Sainsbury's has more awareness of lost shoppers, but it's interesting that the online and store categories don't match well. Given that most of us do a bit of both with shopping, that's going to create confusion.

They should put them next to the chickens. With an over-aisle sign, readable from both sides, saying "EGGSISTENTIAL".

Which would you put first though?! The correct answer could get most yokes in a right scramble.

I forgot to put the other jarred olives locations.
Sainsbury's: Canned, tinned and packaged foods / olives & antipasti.
Waitrose: Jarred goods, pickles & olives.
Asda: World food / Italian & Mediterranean food / Olives & antipasti.

The reason I shop in Lidl (apart from being the closest, in walking distance) is they don’t change things about. However they have started this week doing cheaper prices for two packs which I’m not impressed with, I liked their fair pricing even if you only wanted one pack approach, I don’t need 12 burgers!

You can mix and match the offers. Can freeze the meat! People often don’t understand that you can mix n match the stuff on offer, providing it’s on the same X for £Y. Iceland, you can buy for example a block of cheese, a bag of chicken strips and a bag of frozen fish for £10 as all had 3 for £10.

When have the wine offer 6 or more and get 25% off, 85% of customers buy all the same wine. I was buying 6 myself after work and a customer screamed at me saying “you won’t get your 25% off”. I showed him the receipt and discount applied. With the wine offer, you get 25% off the total amount. So wine adds to £42. 25% off that is £10.50. So wine costs £31.50

The Lidl I use has moved things about last month. Only things not moved are bakery, the non chilled fruit (bananas, pears, oranges etc) and milk.

For example, the Swiss rolls, filled crepes are next to the scotch pancakes, scones which are next to the bread, Frozen section which used to be backing to the last row of chillers is now the far end of the store. Meat, fish and non meat alternatives were opposite the non chilled veg, now along the back wall in the reverse order to when it was in the old place. That’s where the sauces, tinned vegetables/pulses, pasta, rice etc was

Eggs are further down the same aisle as I originally started the thread about eggs

Tell them with a straight face that it's because the eggs are free range.

Brava!
