Inspired by DS obsession with Steve Backshall.

He would be off round the world "too busy to do childcare darling", would come home reeking of bar poo, and would insist on taking the children to play with venomous snakes "it won't hurt them if they don't bother it".

Brian May. Granted you’d be married to a very interesting man, but how many times would you be thinking “Christ Brian, just strum the guitar like a normal human and get off yet another sodding roof”.

And then he’d start banging on about astrophysics and nicking your curl crème and you’d just want him back on the roof again.

Tennant. I feel sorry for his wife.

They seem pretty in love to be fair.

But badgers! Won't anyone think of the badgers?!

wordywitch · 18/05/2025 14:16

Jack Whitehall because he’s a posh mummy’s boy who thinks he’s funnier than he is, and Ricky Gervais for laughing at his own jokes and treating animals better than human beings.

ThomasShelbysfagend · 18/05/2025 14:18

Geoff Goldbloom, ffs just say what you need to
say. Stop faffing and just spit it out will you!

BlueEyedBogWitch · 18/05/2025 14:12

Oh, look at this one then.

You can thank me later.

Oh! 🤣

But also, my trousers look like that too.
I've been eating too much cake and now they don't do up.

Peter Andre popped into my head immediately. If he was chocolate he'd eat himself. Vile man.

I am always stunned that some one with so little talent has managed to sustain a career out of one very bad pop song. And then posting photos from Seaworld. Ewww
How can someone as clever as a Dr stay with him. It must like talking to brick wall.

cramptramp · 18/05/2025 14:19

Robbie Williams. Self obsessed, childish, bore.

SisterTeatime · 18/05/2025 14:20

Christian Horner. Though I imagine being married to Geri is no picnic, she is quite endearing, whereas he is … not.

Nicolas Cage. You’d be worried all the time about what he was going to buy next.

I wouldnt worry about Nick Cage because you'd be divorced within 2 weeks and he'd have fallen in love with someone else within the month.

I really like him but watching Stacy and Joe makes me think I couldn’t be married to Joe, he’s too much of a loose cannon! He seems lovely but just hectic

Yes same here! Made me really grateful for DH!

Do you keep a courgette in your pocket?

😉

Notgoodatpoetrybutgreatatlit · 18/05/2025 14:26

@RedCrochetedWigFace
I saw him perform back in the 80s he was too pretty then. As an oldie myself I think he looks better now the pretty has worn off.

Tennant. I feel sorry for his wife.

His wife is a bigger pain in the arse than he is.

Padloque · 18/05/2025 14:34

When Joe Swash was on Celebrity Masterchef there was lots of jovial cheeky chappery if the cameras were on him, but as soon as it got a bit competitive, a rather unpleasant streak emerged, I thought.

i can imagine Geri would be that PTA friend/neighbour who’s really sweet and a bit helpless, until one day you glance into the back of your car and realise you’re looking after her son, her dog and her dry cleaning. And your DH is taking your lawn mower round to Corner Manors because her gardener’s ’let her down again’.

@drspouseSteve Backshall is married to Olympian Helen Glover. I heard a radio interview with her before the last Olympics about motherhood and training and she explained how they combine timetables to make sure one of them is always around for the children. I the lifestyle wouldn’t suit me and you obviously can never tell what happens behind closed doors, but it did sound like a very balanced relationship that worked for their family

I was just coming on to say similar.
Rowing training is both time consuming and gruelling, and as part of a crew she wouldn't have a lot of flexibility re training sessions, as well as a lot of international travel for events so it seems like he does pull his weight around childcare etc.

I agree with every name on this list-especially David Tennant and Gary Lineker and would like to add Micheal McIntyre. I through a fancy friend was at an event with just a handful of people and he was there. A sort of having tea a walking around chatting thing. He was so "on" and performative and I remember saying at the time how utterly exhausting it would be to be married to him. And I don't think he'd every fancy anyone as much as he fancies himself.

Andoutcomethewolves · 18/05/2025 14:35

Sting also. 7 hour long sex sessions, can you imagine the chafing?? Poor Trudy

eeemes · 18/05/2025 13:39

Sadly, he passed away recently…

”Parton's husband, Carl Dean, died earlier this month in Nashville, Tennessee at age 82. The couple were married for nearly 60 years, meeting when a now 79-year-old Parton was 18 and marrying in 1966”

I read a quote where she said he was the only man who looked her in the eyes rather than the boobs. Made me feel a bit sad for her.

David Tennant, insufferable.

Yes! My goodness, I used to ADORE him but he's such a knob now. What was that hair all about at the BAFTAS? And the vile suit. And the way he kissed Georgia didn't look loving, it looked creepy and they definitely needed to get a room, goddammit! TMI David, TMI!

Itiswhysofew · 18/05/2025 14:38

No idea who Steve Backshall is. Better have a look.

Michael Sheen
Dominic West

Thinking about Dolly Partons husband. Years married, never in any pics with her, let her achieve everything and he is back home probably living well and without any of the drawbacks of fame.

Doubt it, as he's dead.

Inlimboin50s · 18/05/2025 14:42

Phil Vickery, he gives me difficult man vibe

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 18/05/2025 14:53

Most of them, I expect!

Ben Fogle. Women drooling at every turn.

😮 You're joking! Surely no one drools over Ben Fogle.
