Same dad, no miscarriages to ‘break the chain’, if the first 2 are opposite sex, the third will be whatever number 2 was - so BGG, or GBB. Not BGB, or GBG.

It sounds crazy but it’s something I noticed ages ago - every time somebody announces they’re having a third, and they have one of each, I know it will be the same as the second child.

It's an interesting observation! It took me quite some time to even think of families who have 3 kids and the same dad! Families seem to be much smaller these days.

maybe you’ve seen a pattern would love to see some actual stats! Many of the posters aren’t listening that you said children of the opposite sex first.

No, that's just a coincidence among people you know.

You know how the sex of babies is determined, right? By the sperm. Eggs or what might be going on hormonally or whatever inside female bodies play no role at all. So what you're saying really COULDN'T be true. Men can't stop producing XX or XY sperm based on what sex their last child was. The one thing can't possibly influence the other.

Your own post went off piste. You started taking about 3rd child after two different sex siblings. Then they started talking about BGB and GBG and saying BBG and GGB proved your initial point.

Absolutely wrong 🤣🤣 I take it you aren’t a scientist. I’m the youngest of 3 and the only girl. In fact I know so many families with 3 or more children and this rule is definitely not the case. It’s made me smile though.

I have BBG, and I see quite a lot of families that have the same pattern of two of the same sex, followed by the youngest of the opposite sex.

I'm obviously just noticing this because it's the same as mine though! There's probably no pattern, although I'm sure that I was told when pregnant with my third, that the more you have of one sex, the more likely it is that you have another of the same? Wasn't the case for me, but there we go...

I think a lot of families with 3 kids maybe have 2 of the same gender and are giving it another shot for the other gender. So if my theory is right then BBG GGB GGG BBB would be more common than BGB GBG GBB BGG

There doesn't seem to be much of a pattern.
