To be really worried about Reform?

1000 replies

FiveHorse · 29/04/2025 13:09

Just that really. They’re predicted to gain the most from the upcoming elections, if this carries on could we see a reform government at the next general elections? Or is it press scaremongering as usual?

I'm English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿.
The Reform Party aren't against immigration , they are against illegal immigration and invasion.

Weren’t UKIP against Polish immigration which was legal while we were in the EU? A lot of “coming over here and taking our jobs” if I remember correctly?

AbigfanofDogs · 30/04/2025 08:05

Has anyone noticed half the people posting supporting Reform can barely spell?! 😂

inkognitha · 30/04/2025 08:06

When absolutely nothing stops or deters illegal migrants to physically land in the UK via hundreds of miles of coastline, when the only solution to remove them out of the country after they arrive is to wait for a legal decision about their asylum years down the road, there may be customs checkpoints at stations and airports, there may be laws claiming that people need the right paperwork before they enter the UK… but in reality, it’s open borders, let’s not fool ourselves

Alexandra2001 · 30/04/2025 08:01

Still can't tell us all the answer to this can you......

Answer to what?

And angrily demanding answers to some made up question doesn’t stop Reform winning big.

So what would you do? whats Reform's policy to stop people crossing the channel and "invading" the UK?

Surely someone who backs Reform can say what it is???

Ah is this the ‘basket of deplorables’ mentality.

Yeah keep going. Those people who can’t spell, will vote reform in their millions. And then you’ll be squealing that Reform have some power.

Remember Brexit anyone? Laugh at the voters, and be prepared to laugh on the other side of your face.

Alexandra2001 · 30/04/2025 08:09

MN needs to have age verification.

StandFirm · 30/04/2025 08:09

Reform is just franchised MAGA shite. Just insert a different flag but they parrot the same lines (and thrive off the same funding sources). All Trumpism is doing right now across the pond is tank the world economy. It's bullshit to set up a true authoritarian regime - all led by 'christian' white males.
If that floats your boat, Reform are the way to go... just bear in mind we'd be true vassals this time around.

So only educated people like yourself have the right to talk?
So it’s ok to make fun of people with limited abilities?
How tolerant of the well-meaning left

It is because the lefties sincerely despise their own working class that the working classes don’t want to vote for them, Reform is only filling that vacuum.

Resorting to insults worked so well for remainers didn’t it!

Yep imagine Reform/Farage refusing to obey Supreme court rulings....

Should they ever get into Govt, thats what we'll get and who, ultimately, could enforce the courts judgement...

The people i know who say they'll vote Reform, are a mixed bag, mostly believing the 2 main parties have failed.

Do people vote a certain way based on "insults" ?

If they do, what does that say about them...

Getting upset ain’t gonna change the fact that Farage is going to win big tomorrow.

What do you think Reform councillors will do that current councillors are not doing?
Is anyone able to answer this?

DuncinToffee · 30/04/2025 08:20

As if people's votes are so easily influenced by comments on MN Confused

Easy excuse to use, MN made me do it

I personally would have thrown a hell of a tantrum when we were within the EU to change the asylum policies and find a solution at the EU level. It was pass the parcel. People thought Brexit would stop that, it just became another form of pass the parcel.

I would also introduce ID cards and drastically lower the amount of benefits asylum applicants get. These benefits make the UK a most desirable destination, it should be the 1st thing to go.

I was also in favour of Rwanda or similar, for the same amount of money an asylum seeker will cost barely surviving with no prospects in a UK seaside town, you can build a life in Rwanda, live safely and have a future.

BTW, I m a migrant myself, have fun with that

I do think insulting people will make them more likely to vote Reform, yes. How does scoffing and laughing at spelling help?

It’s a protest vote that hopefully will knock some sense into Labour and the Tories, not that I’m hopeful of them actually starting to understand the voting population disenfranchised majority, as they both seem obsessed with minority issues.

They are going to vote for them either way, compassion or no compassion.

The truth is I worry that despite a near 💯 literacy rate, the population of the UK are not as well educated as they should be and they will vote yet again, for the wrong policies at the detriment of us all.

Even Labour pledge to do this they just haven’t got the mandate to get to where Aus is for example or policies.

I do think there is an element of 'digging heels in' when it comes to this. If you support a party and others say you must be thick, it's not going to make you change your mind, it may have the opposite effect as it creates a tribal mentality.
The only reform voter I know is a university professor, so definitely not thick. I actually think the thickest people are those who can't see the world from others points of view and are unable to empathise or relate, it's a skill to be able to do that and it takes intelligence and an open mind.
