To Dislike The Term Cis Woman?

Why are we using this phrase so much both on Mumsnet and elsewhere? I am woman, why the need for cis? It’s a label women have never needed before. Maybe I’m ignorant but it just irritates me. AIBU?

Absolutely hate it. That is not me. I am a woman.

You're listening to the wrong people if they're using that term.

You’re several years late to the party, assuming you’re genuine. The Feminism boards have flatly refused to accept that term for a long while.

’Cis’ implies you accept you have a gender identity, and that you are prepared to be in a subset of women that includes transwomen (who are men, as the Supreme Court says).

I don’t think i’ll ever understand the trans community. I have no problem with people wanting to live their life however they chose, dress how you want, take your hormones, have your surgeries, that, I believe, does not bother the vast majority, your body, your rules as to what you do with it.
I do however take issue with people trying to force their opinions and ideologies onto the rest of the world.
I am a woman. I menstruate. I have carried a child. I have given birth. I will one day go through menopause. Trans women will never experience that, that is just biology. Don’t try to tell me that you are the same as a woman, you just simply are not and that is OK. No matter how much you want to call a spade a diamond, it will always be a spade, just accept you’re a spade and live your life?
