is mumsnet a hoax?

Mumsnet is brill, but I'm very suspicious... my reasons are,.......

I have noticed that any question from nipple advice to foster caring to mother in law advice is answered within approximately 10 mins. Surely the chances of someone who can offer advice being online at exactly the right time is minimal?

Also, the posts are all written in a very similar style and the advice given always covers all angles. What are the chances of all these people being on line at the same time?

I am a mum myself and manage to get online approx once a week. How does any mum or dad find time to be on for hours a day? I'm certain that some of, but not all of mums net, is set up.

PeaGreene · 16/05/2008 22:34

LOL, I sometimes have this theory that the whole world is a hoax and you're all out to watch how I react, Truman Show style.

ChippyMinton · 16/05/2008 22:34

You've never had time to post before?

eenybeeny · 16/05/2008 22:35

liking this thread already!

If you are so short on time how have you managed to work out that all the threads are answered within that time frame and also deduced what the answers are like?

LadyMuck · 16/05/2008 22:35

If you only get online once a week then you haven't understood the addiction of mumsnet. In fact you might be missing the point completely.

Back in the Dark Ages (2000/01) it was only used for proper questions about babies or pregnancy, and there were about 20 threads a day.

ChippyMinton · 16/05/2008 22:35

wondered why the xmas meet-up was so quiet LOL

hashim · 16/05/2008 22:35

ha. I knew it. If you need any more 'advisors' let me know.!!

Obviously we are all childless men living off unemployment benefit - we'd never be able to do it otherwise

Hassled · 16/05/2008 22:36

Actually there are only 5 of us, each with about 20 different personas. We use google a lot. Sometimes I get confused and start being shouty, hard-nosed poster under the name of reasonable, helpful poster. It's draining, I tell you.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 16/05/2008 22:36

I have drawn the long straw so no need to answer.

Heh heh heh

ChippyMinton · 16/05/2008 22:37

There is in reality only a small, very select, membership of MN.

Consists of Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, 3 reptilian aliens, David Icke and the gunman from the grassy knoll.

Go on then, ask us a question! Anything you like.
