is mumsnet a hoax?

Mumsnet is brill, but I'm very suspicious... my reasons are,.......

I have noticed that any question from nipple advice to foster caring to mother in law advice is answered within approximately 10 mins. Surely the chances of someone who can offer advice being online at exactly the right time is minimal?

Also, the posts are all written in a very similar style and the advice given always covers all angles. What are the chances of all these people being on line at the same time?

I am a mum myself and manage to get online approx once a week. How does any mum or dad find time to be on for hours a day? I'm certain that some of, but not all of mums net, is set up.

BALD Dark Side of the Moon? Crikey, evil entries at the beginning. We played it in our regionals earlier this year and our guest conductor / mentor experty type had adjudicated it in other regions. Said no-one got it right there either. And neither did we. So don't worry, VERY difficult, you won't be alone. Enjoy it though.

berylsboss · 16/05/2008 23:24

Beryl, please offer this new stirrer person a Boden voucher, throw her off the scent a bit.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 16/05/2008 23:24

Peas, yep, hideous start, for a 4th section band, we are aiming for a hat-trick lol.

Hijack over

As you were

mistypeaks · 16/05/2008 23:24

Beryl - Chrissnow will take the extra shifts. He has to pay for his regular intake of cheesy wotsits and white lightning somehow . . .

berylsboss · 16/05/2008 23:25

up at 7? Lightweight!

Some of us are on the nightshift here.

pinkspottywellies · 16/05/2008 23:28

too many glasses of wine to say anything witty but

berylsboss · 16/05/2008 23:29

Good idea mistypeaks, I'll authorise that for Beryl!

Any regulars want any overtime to deal with the sudden influx of newbies?

Also over here in HR we have some application forms for our new course "dealing with awkward customers" sponsored by Cod and Greggs.

BerylfromHumanResources · 16/05/2008 23:35

so many arguments over who will take the late night looney shift.

Come on I really do need someone for the graveyard 4-6pm shift this week. I know Fran is going on a paint balling family weekend and yes Cod is hungover again recovering. But seriously, who's up? Hunker is always roleplaying dungeons and dragons so who's left, Cali? She's put in a lot of overtime already.

mistypeaks · 16/05/2008 23:38

Oh bugger - I have after school computer club to spend quality time with DH then. . . .

BerylfromHumanResources · 16/05/2008 23:38

None of you know the truth. I was employed by MNHQ to assist in developing intelligent software. There are numerous robotic 'personas' which are programmed to seek specific key words in threads and generate an automated response. We have had a few hitches, such as 'model1328 - cod' who malfunctioned from the very start but has taken on a life of her own and is now unstoppable. Artificial intelligence indeed.

merryberry · 19/05/2008 09:42

MNHQ - can we have an area 51 chat zone please?
