Should the police be arresting people carrying placards that encourage the hanging, burning or mutilating of Terfs ie women ??

I thought that there were limits to what we could advocate... and that people carrying anti-semite placards (for example) in the Pro Palestine marches were arrested?

Surely there must be some protection from the incitement of violence that is happening on these trans rights marches?

I dunno what the law is on this. If the law would prosecute those who have placards calling for the burning etc. of socialists / Tories etc then they should also apply to those calling for violence against “Terfs”.

The police should be arresting anyone who incites hatred and violence against others, no matter who they are.

Yes. It was looked into only a couple of years ago and decided it was in no one's best interest, including women's, to include misogyny as a hate crime, as it was so hard to define. I am paraphrasing the statement, but that is its essence.

Partly because the trans activists had already jumped on it and the proposal was to include men who identify as women in women’s protections so there was a realistic scenario for actual women to get prosecuted for telling men who would like to be women that they aren’t actually women.

I quite like Eddie. Am.i right in thinking he's never claimed to be an actual woman though? As far as I can tell he is clear that he's a man that likes to wear drag and call himself Suzie. All.od which is absolutely fine in my book! I don't think he looks like a woman or actually asks to use the women's toilets or expects men who identify as women to compete against women in elite sports. He seems sensible to me. Hope I'm not wrong about him/her.

You are very much wrong, yes.
Not only does he feel entitled to use women’s toilets, he finds it fucking hilarious that he scared some thirteen year old girls when doing so.

Lucy Connolly got more than two years in prison for sending one tweet, which she later deleted. What she wrote was abhorrent, and she was rightly punished for it. However, many of the signs yesterday were of a very similar vein, surely?

Here’s an annotated account of that incident.

There have been photos of him queueing in more recent times. He’s a massive disappointment.

It really is a free for all to see how much abuse can be lobbed at women. It’s incitement surely.

loveyouradvice · 21/04/2025 12:06

Yes...this is such a double standard... While I'm glad they are prosecuting those who defaced statues, surely that is in a different league to trying to incite violence against specific groups of women and women (including JKR)?

So agree with PP...
