Should the police be arresting people carrying placards that encourage the hanging, burning or mutilating of Terfs ie women ??

I thought that there were limits to what we could advocate... and that people carrying anti-semite placards (for example) in the Pro Palestine marches were arrested?

Surely there must be some protection from the incitement of violence that is happening on these trans rights marches?

"This is really changing my view on trans people"

Completely agree.

The trans activists have been behaving this way for years.

They really don't like women who say no to men.

Someone described it as being like the period of time after an abusive relationship end, which is when aggressive men are even more dangerous. These men were told NO in the highest court in the land. They're extremely angry.

They were threatening a massive 'pissing event' outside the houses of Parliament, which is not something most 'non- trans' women would do.

The thing is, I don't 'hate' most of the TW I come across. It's just these nasty, deeply malicious, misogynistic TAs waving hate speech banners. Can't they see that they are doing a fundamental disservice to their Trans community by making everyone think all TW are TAs? They are the ones creating mistrust and fear in others.

TW talk of being scared and frightened, of what, I wonder? I can't help thinking it's BECAUSE of violent, vociferous TAs intimidating women, and women, rightfully resenting the whole community because of the nefarious actions of these people.

Of course women are now going to be distrustful and resentful of TW; we don't know if you are just trying to go about your life as a bloke in a dress, or you are going to be generally violent to women, carrying placards calling for hanging or burning, intimidation tactics, hate speech.

Can't they see that they are doing a fundamental disservice to their Trans community by making everyone think all TW are TAs?

This is spot on. 20 years ago I knew of two transwomen, quietly getting on with their lives with none of this noise around them. I no longer know them but I wonder whether their lives are better or worse from the recent activism and spotlight. Genuinely wonder, like were they put out by using a male bathroom or had they not thought much about it before all the media attention? Do they feel more or less at risk walking down the street?

Back then, everyone just used the name the person had chosen to live by and the associated pronoun e.g. Sandra would be referred to as her/she, and everyone pretended not to notice that Sandra had a 5 oclock shadow and used the mens toilets. Now I wonder if Sandra feels compelled to use a pronoun email signature and a third space toilet and if that really makes her feel more or less accepted. I don't remember the older generation transgender women making this noise and interestingly at my husbands work, an older transwoman has stayed well away from all the noise and groups. I wonder if it's a case of nit wanting to single herself out or whether she's embarrassed by it all and doesn't want people to think she wants the "right" to single sex spaces.

I do feel extremely sorry for the Transcommunity that want to live peacefully and never wanted any of this.

minnienono · 20/04/2025 09:07

Where are these placard waving TA’s? they are a tiny minority at most, every trans person I know is just quietly getting on with life, some you won’t even realise are trans, others (usually those m-f who transitioned later) do look like a bloke in a skirt but nobody cares if they want to look slightly ridiculous (not that I would say that to their faces) and here at least all the trans people just use the disabled loo so nobody is inconvenienced either way). Of course if you pass for the other sex and don’t make a fuss you wouldn’t even realise that you have encountered a trans person.

we live a very liberal area, live and let live but equally it’s a non confrontational environment where you respect each other including at the pool where they have 3 changing areas, male (open) female (open) and mixed (cubicles) all those including children of the opposite sex are respectfully asked to used mixed changing!

CraftandGlamour · 20/04/2025 09:13

"at least all the trans people just use the disabled loo so nobody is inconvenienced either way"

WTAF. Do disabled people not count in your world? They ARE inconveniencing disabled people, thanks, by putting further pressure on scant resources for people who actually need them.

Yes. They are hate crimes.
Did you see that awful desecration of the cemetery in Lancashire, and graffiti on the church wall? The police are classing that, rightly, as a hate crime.
Yesterday's placards, chanting and threats were also hate crimes.

And that, while reprehensible criminal vandalism and upsetting for people, doesn’t sound like it was threatening physical harm to anyone from what’s reported. The lettering shown looks like it might be the same person who has daubed bridges on the M6 with various anti religious slogans - iirc things something like ‘religion is the Antichrist’ and ‘3004 religions and none of them are right’ - attacking religion rather than religious people.

My point is that the police are regarding it as a hate crime.

MidnightPatrol · 20/04/2025 09:23

In any other situation they’d be looking at a prison sentence for inciting violence.

But for some reason, they get a free pass.

ihmysrn · 20/04/2025 09:24

Silvertulips · 19/04/2025 23:24

You would think so but it's misogyny innit and women count for nothing it seems

So why do so many men what to be one?

Oh they don’t want to be any old run of the mill boring woman, we’re mostly doing it wrong, they want to be a special woman. They know how to do it best after all.

Goth and emo are subcultures; transgender people aren't a subculture.

What are they then?

Not a subculture. Not a sexuality. A doctrine?

ErrolTheDragon · 20/04/2025 09:37

OctopusFriend · 20/04/2025 09:22

Yes, I know. Criminal damage (I assume that’s the crime part) because someone hates god/religion vs incitement to harm actual people - doesn’t stack up to me either.

The hate crimes legislation doesn’t map properly to protected characteristics defined in the Equality act.
It relates

  • race or ethnicity
  • religion
  • sexual orientation
  • disability
  • transgender identity

Apart from the glaring omission of sex, it also omits age and replaces ‘religion or belief’ merely by ‘religion’. If it adhered to the same terms as the equality act then incitement to violence against ‘TERFs’ could be seen as a hate crime on that ground too.

Felinnefine · 20/04/2025 09:33

Mental health illness.

IAteAllTheChurros · 19/04/2025 23:26

I thought sex/gender was a protected characteristic, so why aren't these placards being classed as hate speech against women ? It's appalling the double standards that are held over this kind of thing.

It will depend how Starmer views it. Hundreds sent to prison last summer for expressing their views on migrants as Starmer wants migrants (even though statistics show certain groups of these cause excess sexual violence against women). But Starmer has never been on the side of women so expect a free pass on those protesting recently against women.

Naunet · 20/04/2025 09:57

You're absolutely right OP, its disgusting and I've lost any last shred of sympathy I had for them, vile, woman hating, male supremacists.

Whatsgoingonherethenagain · 20/04/2025 10:01

BundleBoogie · 19/04/2025 23:32

Apparently women don’t enjoy the same levels of protection from the police as the special people.

Same reason we’re not covered by the hate crime law but in Scotland even men dressed up as women (on a stag do for example) are specifically protected from ‘hate crimes’ .

I’ve mentioned this on threads elsewhere tonight but women in prison getting sexually harassed or assaulted by the male criminals placed in their prisons (the a high rate of being sex offenders) get punished for complaining about sexual assault.

Many in authority must really hate us.

On the plus side, at least British Transport Police have updated their policy to say that men with a female GRC can no longer strip search women. I’m not sure if any other police force have changed their policy in this to be in line with the actual law but we can be thankful for small mercies.

My local force have always had the biological sex can only intimately search the same sex policy.

so no need to change it.

re. The signs, personally let them crack on. I’d rather they were there showing their true hateful colours than be silenced, and people start thinking that kind of hate doesn’t exist.

The amount of people, including some women, who go on about ‘both sides’ re aggression really needs to end.

We say no we don’t consent, FWS goes to the Supreme Court, they sing when they win.

We don’t use violence as men do.

KimberleyClark · 20/04/2025 10:10

Slothtoes · 20/04/2025 08:17

this is domestic terrorism surely?

In UK law, terrorism is defined as a violent act which

  • Endangers a person’s life, other than that of the person committing the action
  • Involves serious violence against a person
  • Causes serious damage to property
  • Creates a serious risk to the public’s health and safety
  • Interferes with or seriously disrupts an electronic system

Carrying placards encouraging violence against terms would probably constitute extremism, not terrorism.

I'm waiting for Starmer to insist the police do their job and for the courts to fast track them with harsh punishments. I mean he manged to do it for the riots so surely he can manage it for this.

🤔

Starmer is alas as weak as water.

TheOriginalEmu · 20/04/2025 10:23

TERFs are not a protected group though are they? You don’t have to be female to be a TERF.
I don’t think anyone should be making signs advocating for physical assault, obviously, and those who do that should be punished. But let’s not pretend that Terf= woman. That’s naive at best and disingenuous at worst.

IthasYes · 20/04/2025 10:24

your jealous my dicks bigger than your bf and my tits are bigger than yours

Yes they need to be arrested.

Have you considered the logistics here?

you know the police and courts are massively underfunded and have huge backlogs.

so to arrest, process, charge, file to the cps and bring to court every single one of these placard holders, and fast track them past existing cases would mean they go in front of rape, murder, stalking, robbery etc.

fairly sure Keir as a barrister will be aware of this.

it may have been done for the riots but that was nowhere near the scale, plus it did result in real violence.

to prosecute these people you’d have to prove they actually intended to do what their placards say, or to persuade other people to do so. That bar is going to be a high one.

so as I said leave them be, in public, showing what kind of person they are and what women are facing. The hypocrisy of them being allowed free speech yet threatening women who dare to exercise the same rights. Start arresting them for them to be nfa’d and it’ll just make them into martyrs.

there was a thing a while ago, can’t remember the cause, but the aim was to get themselves all arrested, clog up the police and the courts, and then take to social media when they were inevitably released, with “see, we’re just being harassed and unjustly accused”

Male aggression and violence.

Yes we’ll take single sex spaces thanks.

HaveYouActuallyDoneAnyWashingThisWeekMum · 20/04/2025 10:40

Can’t be said enough 👆

THIS IS WHY WE WANT MEN OUT OF OUR SPACES.

Look how they behave when they hear the word NO. They don’t want to be told what to do when it comes to women’s spaces.

IthasYes · 20/04/2025 10:41

Womens main attacker is men. All of this encourages violence against women they absolutely should be arrested
