Still waiting for the arrests.

I wouldn't have much faith in the Met Police wrt investigation or arrests of men who assault or threaten women. That isn't really their thing. If you really push them they might give you a crime number, probably only if you are a man though.

The vitriol, hatred and name calling on here make me feel sick. People are like, “But they do it too!” This isn’t primary school.

Some people on here should be ashamed of their comments.

Too?

Has FWS or any of the other groups campaigning for sex based rights tried to prevent trans rights campaigners from meeting? Called for no debate?

TheOtherRaven · 20/04/2025 17:31

DrPrunesqualer · 20/04/2025 17:17

Extremely worrying that the Met seem more concerned at finding the perps who defaced the statues ( which of course they should too ) rather than putting equal importance on the demonstrators inciting violence.

I expect to see arrests of those placard waving idiots.
Although an email to my MP has been sent anyway. We desperately need justice for all who incite violence.

But writing on a statue ....

I mean it's so much worse than waving signs inciting murdering women.

We're not even worth the same concern as bits of bloody stone.

Can you give us examples of the nasty comments

I like the use of language such as “pregnant people” and “people who menstruate” etc. It includes trans men. Doesn’t bother me. I save my energy for actual issues like tackling actual VAWG (not imaginary public toilet attacks) , gender based violence, economic inequality, gender pay gap, childcare provision, etc.

Very difficult to talk about violence against women if you can’t explain what a woman is.

’People who menstruate’ and ‘pregnant people’ is a handy way to obscure the fact that these are both things that affect women.

How do you talk about pay gaps without referring to maternity leave?

Instead ‘woman’ is attached to all the gendered stereotypes that women have tried to escape for over a century.

You sound indistinguishable from a men’s rights activist.

Exactly !

Do the Met see the message they send out to all women
Do they even give a toss

How the hell can we trust such sexist idiots to protect us

Brefugee · 20/04/2025 17:37

here's a nasty comment. It is a reply to Jean Hatchet's photo of a woman who was injured yesterday.

The text of the reply says "they only assaluted ber [sic]... when they could of [sic] finished her life. Yeah i am pissed we were so close to one less [sic] terf."

A quick look at Brolylomaniac's twitter feed turns up this:

"If more trans people wanted to take action like me transphobia would be long dead. Nyara is only slowing progress by being such a goodie twoshoes"

"However bigots are not people, they're parasites, they don't deserve even the most basic of rights"

But sure. Be kind, ladies!!

They ONLY assaulted her.... but it's ok because they didn't kill her.

Seriously?

This isn't nasty, it's criminal and it's pathological.

Terf = serf 😳

Lets be GC

Let’s see if Starmer applies the same ‘full force of the law’ to these miscreants, as he did the summer rioters.

No, thought not….

but they're not looking for the holders of the vile signs, are they? they are looking for people who defaced statues.

Low. Hanging. Fruit.

Very true. But then it’s the police so guess no surprise there.

ILikeDungs · 20/04/2025 18:04

I have said umpteen times on this thread that safe spaces need to protected.

Hmmmm. That very revealing and oft repeated "safe spaces" sneaks in once again.

It's SINGLE SEX SPACES. I have seen this attempt at re-framing before and it won't wash.

Not a single MRA is interested in tackling VAWG or the gender pay gap - as you know. Why are you being disingenuous?

A favourite trick of Keir Starmers. Hopefully there'll be no more of that dishonesty going forward

Surely that crosses the line into criminal hate speech? (As I'm sure does a lot of other things said on Reddit, X etc.) But I bet no action will be taken. In too many captured people's eyes, Brolylomaniac is on the right side. Unlike, say, JKR, whose tweets must always be investigated.

I’m not being disingenuous. I am saying quite clearly that I don’t think you are interested in tackling violence against women or unequal pay because from what you say you don’t recognise women as a definable class that has distinct characteristics.

Well, since only 0.5% of people are trans, it’s pretty easy to campaign for women’s rights - you seem to think that half a percent of people falling into a category you don't want them to means we can’t do that?
