Oh come on now!

It was directed at me. She quoted my post where I was saying my daughter is rather vulnerable, doesn't hurt anyone and had spent the day gardening in order to point out that other mums thought that their 'vulnerable kids' were harmless when they were actually online attacking her. She even said I don't know what "he" (my daughter) is doing when I am not with "him".

Just face it, her mask slipped and showed her true hatred for young people like my daughter.

This thread is about todays demonstrations and the disgusting behaviour of Trans demonstrators against women.

Its not a thread about your family member.
Why are you making this personal when your dc wasn’t even at any of the demonstrations

This is about threats to women !

Some more placards. The witch burning one is from Edinburgh, I think. Not sure where the noose one was taken.

Not relying on threats of violence at all then.

And we want single sex spaces back, I wonder why.

Pussycat22 · 19/04/2025 22:22

Shades of I'll never be cruel again and then displaying threatening behaviour when thwarted. Man behaviour.

Happyspendingthedayinthegarden · 19/04/2025 21:06

OH PLEASE let's not let this sink into an anti-trans post.

I have friends & relatives who are Trans, Gay, Queer & non-binary. Live & let live. Please, we are all above this.

Why is it always women who are asked to live and let live? Why isn't there pressure on the TRAs (who are mostly responsible for this, not your average trans) to live and let live?

Why do women have to be nice in the face of threats of violence, rape and murder?

When you get the TRAs to be nice I'll be nice back. When they live and let live, so will I.

I am not on the trans "side". I am naturally GC.

I just know that most trans people are not hateful or violent. I have a trans child and know many others and none are aggressive or nasty. They are rather vulnerable people who are mostly autistic and they are scared.

I have watched both sides polarise over the years. Just on this thread a now deleted post read "they are disgusting people".

Of course violent signs are a pathetic own goal and of course there are bad actors out there. But frothing over the daily express, mail and telegraph showing a highly curated set of signs out of ten of hundreds of perfectly mild signs that are non-violent is playing into the hands of those in the media who enjoy stoking division. Clearly the vast vast vast majority of people attending these rallies are not violent people who want to decapitate or shoot women. I for one would like those people removed from the protests, but I don't think it's my trans child's fault that some wankers are also trans.

My trans (adult) child spent today volunteering at a community garden, planting potatoes and spring onions. She has never sought for anyone to be sacked, nor used a female toilet or service. She just wants to live peacefully in the way that most makes sense to her. I will not allow you or anyone else to tar her with the same brush as someone carrying a placard that spews hate.

Have you ever spent time on TRA forums (e.g. Reddit) telling them that their actions are a pathetic own goal?

I do wonder why it's the way that women are receiving these threats of violence that you are appealing against, rather than the trans activists themselves.

Of course, I may be wrong and you do try to reason with that community, in which case, fair play to you.

BigDecisionWorthIt · 19/04/2025 22:27

Not surprised. Far Left Liberalism seems to always involve throwing a tantrums and defacing stuff when it doesn't go the desired way.

The absolute irony seeing loads of free Palestine flags there... a poor indictment of our education system.

This might be an unpopular opinion but the handmaidens on this platform, as well as on others and those with the tras, are complicit in this behavior. The tras take advantage of any leniency given to them. There is a real concern that at some point, all aspects of women's rights will be eradicated. If we open the door to transwomen (men), it won't just lead to potential abuse; it could also result in sex-based protections being stripped away from everyone in the future. I'm worried that men might argue against these protections at some point by claiming they already exist in women's spaces. They could use this argument against us, just as trans women and some women are doing now. Is of these people looking ahead?

Edited

I've thought really long and hard why these women align themselves with these men and one of my theories is perhaps these women weren't fancied at school or something and a hatred of women started to creep in early on.
I know it sounds basic but these things often stem back to good old fashioned jealousy. So the boys they wanted never looked at them, so they formed alliances with men who would notice them and pay them attention, even if it doesn't mean anything.
Sorry if that doesn't make sense, I just don't get why young women would see these men anything other than creeps.

Brefugee · 19/04/2025 22:01

meh - as they say in the courtroom dramas "they opened the door to that"

I haven't seen personal attacks, although i have seen some posts have been deleted so, who knows.

As pp said there is a strong whiff of both NAMALT and "not my Nigel" on this thread. And I for one can't be doing with that constantly. I want us to be able to talk about things with constantly being told those two things. FFS we KNOW that already.

So, in summary: if you don't want people talking about your child, don't bring your child into the thread. And if someone does bring their child into the thread, know it may be discussed. But also: if someone brings their child into a thread don't make personal attacks on that child.

I totally understand the desire to defend your child when you think they or the group they're part of or aligned with are being criticised. Tbh I would probably feel and be driven to do the same.

Rationally, if there are women and mothers who can recognise this in some contexts but not others based purely on an inner identity than women cannot see or verify, it's a wilful choice and a failure towards women and girls.

borntobequiet · 19/04/2025 22:34

The more they piss in the streets and make themselves look like idiots the better (feel sorry for the poor buggers who will have to clean it up though).

TRAs are violent extremists.
Women are not.

I thought you guys are better than that and could separate militant extremists from every day folks. Not that you have to agree with the everyday folks mind you.

I do spend a lot of time on my trans family members FB group trying to persuade these ordinary folk that feminists don't hate them or want them dead or deny their existence.

Might stop doing that and this, it's bloody futile.

borntobequiet · 19/04/2025 22:37

I just don't get why young women would see these men anything other than creeps.

You underestimate how much some young women despise and resent older women, simply because they don’t want to get old themselves. So they align with creepy men instead.

I think they’re either not very intelligent and can’t understand the complexities, or they are trapped in a gilded woke cage where all their friends and acquaintances are TWAW so to admit querying gender identity would mean relinquishing their social life, job and reputation. If a little flicker of questioning starts they extinguish it by reminding themselves of ‘the suicides’.

Apparently Rose Schmits from Pottery Throwdown is also threatening to be a phantom pisser. Classy.

And bloody typical of men, I have memories of wheeling my buggy through streams of stinking man piss outside Highbury and Islington Station whenever Arsenal were playing at the old Highbury ground. Just because you can guys, doesn’t mean you should.

So transwomen, who won't ever be able to go out, because they can't use women's toilets anymore, can in fact cope perfectly well by pissing in bottles outside when it suits them. Glad they've demonstrated a solution for that particular problem then.

UCU were there, predictably. Jo Grady posted a photo of herself on X with a poster advocating hanging TERFs in the background. So glad that I cancelled my UCU membership and used the £30 a month for gardening instead.

Perhaps it's time for the trans people and their families who say they aren't represented by misogynistic TRA thugs to say it a bit louder because so far pretty much nobody has bothered to challenge the behaviour from their position of BEING represented by them. What do they say about silence and complicity?

This. To paraphrase the original quote " All that is needed for bab transpeople to succeed is for good trans people to remain silent'.

Cynic17 · 19/04/2025 22:55

Bastards. If they are all so keen to be women, why on earth do they think it's OK to deface a statue of someone who fought for women's rights? This has been done by misogynistic men.

so you're saying that the TRAs are extremists who threaten woman, but that we should just... what, turn the other cheek?

is it because we are the ladies?

What is your actual point here?

spannasaurus · 19/04/2025 22:09

It's an offensive slur in the uk as well

It's also a crafty smoke behind the bike shed. But yes it's a slur. Elsewhere I said that it would not surprise me if TRAs/transpeople wrote 'fag rights' on a statue of a woman as trans ideology is homophobic (in addition to being misogynistic).

MyHeartyCoralSnail · 19/04/2025 23:00

Unfortunately, I worry about attacks on women going up now. These men are angry and we know how men who are angry and hate women respond.

The government need to be coming out right now to nip all this in the bud..

Did anyone really think this crowd would accept this judgement in a rational, calm, measured manner?
