Just as the title says….i know it’s not a big deal but someone please tell me he’ll start branching out! He loves being comfy, not ND in any way really. COULD Have ADHD but that’s a whole other thread.
He’ll wear his school trousers but they are soft too…the two/three times he’s been required to look smart I’ve managed to bribe him to wear chinos, but the minute it was no longer a requirement he changes back into his joggers. I literally have to stick with the same colours of navy and black because they’re the only colours that look somewhat smart. Tell me he’ll grow out of this PLEASE 😅

So what? He is clothed and comfortable and not a doll to be dressed up. This is what you want not what he wants. Wait until he is a teen and won’t be told either way.

OP honestly you need to let it go. And please stop your idealised views of how your child should look.

I couldn't tell you - it's always been a style that's appealed to me and I listen to the type of music that fits that aesthetic so... As I say. Different people like different things. The styles with the leather jacket and sunglasses etc look dull to me.

It is a bit dull, but it's the best I could find in the time I have.

I've literally never seen a woman of that age dress like in the photo. They're too busy wearing Jaeger etc!

Well, my mum is 66 and unless she's exercising, practically lives in skinny jeans, a "classic" white t-shirt and a cardigan or a leather jacket. She looks amazing - but it's not an outfit I would dream of wearing in my thirties. I don't think either of us have ever been in a Jaeger store yet alone bought anything from one.

ThisFluentBiscuit · 20/04/2025 16:06

faerietales · 20/04/2025 15:37

But that's just it - it's your opinion. It's not some kind of universal truth.

I'm sure there are people who would look at the photos you've posted and say "ugh, not for me" as well. I mean, I would never even consider wearing the white trousers you've posted up-thread as I think they're both unflattering and impractical. That doesn't mean you're wrong for liking them, though.

The world would be very boring if we were all the same.

I personally find the whole "tracksuits are ugly" trope to be boring and unimaginative.

It's the way the outfit is styled. She has a good figure and she looks incredible. By themselves, on someone ese, those trousers might not look good.

I'm never going to see a grey tracksuit as anything other than athletic wear, something you wear when ill, or prison wear. 😂 It must be a generational thing.

I don't think the jeans in the photo are skinny, actually.

Agree re cardigans.

Love a sharp blazer with jeans.

Well, seeing as nobody is dressing to please you, I'm not sure your opinion on tracksuits really matters all that much.

And "a sharp blazer with jeans" sounds horrendously formal and uncomfortable to me.

Each to their own.

This is a thread about clothes, specifically about someone wearing joggers all the time. So - shock! Horror! - this is what we're discussing!

namechangeGOT · 20/04/2025 16:12

Mine is 13. All he will wear barring school uniform is shorts. Even in winter. Just shorts. He has two pairs of cargo trousers with a jogger bottom for if we ‘go out’ but that’s it!

Depends how you style it. I think this woman look incredibly cool. not formal and uncomfortable. Ignore the pink stilettos - I wouldn't wear those.

Whereas I just really don't like that look. At all. She's very attractive but it's just not something I would ever choose to wear.

You don't seem to understand how anyone can possibly like things you don't like yourself.

Well yeah, that's how liking things tends to work, does it not? If you dislike something yourself, you can't really see why anyone else would, since it looks awful to you.

ThisFluentBiscuit · 20/04/2025 16:16

Out of interest, what don't you like about the outfit with the blue jacket? It's so cool! (Ignore the shoes.)

Err, no?

I can totally understand why some people would like tracksuits, or formal jackets, or whatever, even though they're not for me.

I think the top is unflattering, I can't stand blazers (they remind me of nineties offices or school uniform) and I'm not a fan of fake ripped jeans. I actually love the shoes!

There are other clothes I don't like that I can see why others would, like slingback shoes, but grey tracksuits are just scraping the bottom of the barrel. No one looks good in them!

ThisFluentBiscuit · 20/04/2025 16:18

I wouldn't put stilettos with this outfit, but they could work with other outfits imo.

Others clearly disagree with you.

You seem almost bemused by the idea that other people have different tastes and opinions, it’s quite fascinating 🤣

Ahhh the clothing snobs are out

People don't need to be in suits and skirts and shirts to look good

I agree. But there is a middle ground. Fairly slim non-tatty blue jeans and a white casual linen shirt on an attractive man look wonderful, especially if he doesn't have trainers like boats on his feet!

Extremely dated look - sorry

TogepiSun · 20/04/2025 16:23

Have you not seen the trend on online of "grey sweatpant season"... Plenty of people like men wearing them for - uh - a certain reason 😉

It's very "early noughties" isn't it?

Standards have definitely slipped in the last 20 years - I think the noughties was the last time people looked good, ie before the Great Tracksuit and Trainer Invasion. So yeah.

Oh my god, no, I haven't heard of that. I did NOT need to know that!

See - I KNEW grey sweatpants were bad!

I always associate grey tracksuits with egg stains, for some reason!
