Does manifesting work

Have you ever manifested something or someone and it’s happened?

No, or I would have won the lotto.

That said, setting a goal, putting a plan in place to reach it rather than waiting for the universe to provide it does work with reasonable things

Exactly this! You can’t manifest something to magically happen

ThisWOMANWontWheesht · 15/04/2025 23:45

No, only being proactive gets things to happen!

MasterBeth · 15/04/2025 23:53

I manifested that no-should start stupid threads on Mumsnet but it seems they still do.

LuckyManifestations · 15/04/2025 23:58

I believe it does Wink

MarkingBad · 16/04/2025 00:08

People think it works because if you think about something, for example, I've not seen a Ford Focus for a while, they end up spotting Ford Focus cars because they have reminded themselves to look out for a Ford Focus

A friend of mine tried to manifest lottery jackpots and now sees any win as working towards winning the Jackpot.

KrisAkabusi · 16/04/2025 00:18

No, of course it doesn't. Otherwise everyone would be rich and disease free. As in all the previous threads like this you'll have people saying "I manifested myself money and next day I found a fiver!" It's funny how nobody ever manifests a significant amount or something genuinely life changing. The only way it works is if you manifest a new job, and then declare success 200 CVs and 30 interviews later. Thinking about it does nothing, it's all about the effort.

RockyRogue1001 · 16/04/2025 00:19

Obviously not

Zoflorabore · 16/04/2025 00:20

Listen to Dauchsy meditation on YouTube he has a whole manifest series and his voice is beautiful and soothing.

i do believe in it to a point.

Ponoka7 · 16/04/2025 00:23

Yep, all those people who starve to death, just wasn't doing manifesting right. It's another thing born out of the arrogance of privilege.

Coffeeheaven · 16/04/2025 00:25

I had never tried manifesting before but I needed a new house after trying to find somewhere for 3 years and was getting desperate. A few days later a house came on the market that was just what I had asked for, a week later our offer got accepted and 6 months later here I am in my new house.

It could just be a coincidence, ofcourse.

midlandsmummy123 · 16/04/2025 00:30

there's been threads on this before, but... its like CBT - a thoughts/feelings/behaviours self-reinforcing cycle. I have convinced myself and others around me that I am the best at what I do for a (niche software) career which has resulted in me being head hunted and paid very well, I've obviously put effort into what I wanted to achieve but having an affirmation statement or goal reminds me daily what I'm working towards.

Sorry I don't mean to sound like I was bragging.

Franjipanl8r · 16/04/2025 00:31

Yes, I manifest that I need a coffee every morning. For some reason my DH is usually attached to the mythical manifested coffee when it appears on my bedside table.

Preposterious · 16/04/2025 00:33

No but focussing on your goals can

Negroany · 16/04/2025 00:38

No, but it also doesn't hurt does it. So give it a go.

getahhtmapub · 16/04/2025 01:11

I follow someone on Instagram who believes it but they only ever appear to have success with parking or traffic related requirements and they are few and far between because a there’s a traffic drama at least once a week. Weirdly she still has a low paid job with long hours and a rented house but because said job is near her kids school she apparently manifested it which seems like a waste of powers tbh.
Today she has been focused on manifesting that her kid will shut up while she works from home….she started work late and gave kids a bunch of things to do and therefore the manifestation has been a success (except when the kid kept interrupting her).

Preposterious · 16/04/2025 01:23

@getahhtmapubI have a friend who always gets a parking space right by where we want to go. She thinks it’s normal and thinks I exaggerate if I say there’s never any parking somewhere. It’s the most bizarre thing. I never get one and I’ve tried manifesting one every time I go to a busy place but it never works.

Monty27 · 16/04/2025 01:26

For sure it just takes balls

👏

Zippityjumpingbean · 16/04/2025 01:49

Well probably not but it’s one of those things that can’t hurt can it?
it helps you focus on your goal so you put more effort towards getting there perhaps?
i “manifested” my dream job, which is great. In reality i also put a shed loaf of actual work in so…?

Robinredd · 16/04/2025 02:04

OK, I'll get laughed at for this but after 8 years of infertility and approaching 40 I got desperate. A friend had been into manifesting for years and I saw it working for her but I just thought it was mostly BS. She bought me a book (not the secret) and it literally explained how to manifest. I started to write about the daughter I so desperately wanted, three months later I was pregnant for the first time ever and gave birth to a baby girl. A year later aged 40 I wanted a sibling so I did the same thing and wrote about the son I wanted, I did this about 6 months before trying and then first month trying I was pregnant with my son.

People will mock, but who cares? All I know is this is what works for me and my life is a lot better for it and that's good enough for me.

mjf981 · 16/04/2025 03:03

No. Its woo.

I saw a 'manifesting coach' on FB the other day advertising her services in return for payment. I wondered who would possibly part with money for such bollocks.

Poonu · 16/04/2025 03:37

Yes 100%

That's amazing! I'm so glad you got your little family.

Which book was it please?

That’s lovely though, I’m happy for you!
