Bumcheeks fully on show at family attraction

Today I was at a local attraction aimed at young families. It's an outdoor attraction with a zoo, a few tame rides, a soft play, that sort of thing. Aimed at kids under 10.

There were two teenage girls there, probably about 16, didn't appear to be with anyone else, who were wondering around looking at the animals. One of them had on the shortest "skirt" imaginable. When I say bum cheeks were on show, I don't just mean a peek or a little glimpse. I mean the "skirt" ended almost at the top of her arse. It's truly was like a belt. Not only that but she was wearing a thong and fishnet tights. You could see her entire bum, and things were only just decent around the front.
She and her friend must have noticed quite a few shocked glances and maybe whispered comments because her friend said loudly "well that's THEIR problem isn't it"

Is it? AIBU to think its entirely inappropriate?

I rarely see this in their regular clothes but it often shocks me how often I see 'skirts as belts' in school uniform. It's like the schools just don't care what they wear!
Last year I ended up walking behind one girl whose skirt ended just before her bum, unfortunately her rucksack had pulled up the side of her skirt so her thong and one arse cheek was fully displayed! Not the best look...

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 15/04/2025 22:28

I had to tell a 13 year old girl in my class rhe other day to pull her skirt down because I could see her pants. And not from the back. The students were standing up behind their chairs at the start of their lesson and this kid's knickers were on show at the front. I found this awkward- the spectacle itself, and also telling the girl to sort her uniform out in a way that wouldn't embarrass her - so you can only imagine how difficult my male colleagues find it.

I honestly think it's disgusting that we have a society where young girls have been conditioned to think that showing their pants at school (or anywhere else) is acceptable and appropriate. I am also completely appalled by the frankly stupid 'everyone can wear what they want, it's everyone else who has a problem' attitude some people have.

Yep, and the parents- you'd probably get them complaining to the teacher- how dare you tell my child how to dress!

No we are just concerned grown adult women (presuming mainly women).

To be fair I didn't go into detail on one of my posts because there's plenty of people in the background who get titillated by the slightest thing.
It's an open forum and does attract some of the most vile of people.

Blinkyy · 15/04/2025 22:32

But we are having a stramash about teenage boys, misogyny, treatment of women, online sexism - yet dressing like a pole dancer at 14 is ok -you couldn’t make it up as they say.

ParkHse86 · 15/04/2025 22:32

SpringSunshineanddaffodils · 15/04/2025 20:54

I'm glad someone else has seen it because I can't even find a picture on the internet of a skirt short enough to really convey how pretty much non existent it was.
FULL arse on display.

I assume something like this - micro skirt

Tbrh · 15/04/2025 22:34

Iwiicit · 15/04/2025 20:59

Of course you are being completely reasonable but you'll still get parents on here saying it's absolutely fine for children to go about basically naked from the waist down, cos well they're just teenagers being teenagers innit?
What can you do?
What could possibly go wrong?

Then you'll get parents who actually make an effort to parent their children and to explain to them about things like basic decency and consideration for others.

💯 ... and respect for themselves. I always laugh when apparently it's feminist to bare all for men to ogle at, erm yeah sure it is.

Grown men aren't a teenage girls market though.
It's a shame nobody told the men.

ArseofOrion · 15/04/2025 22:37

Some of these responses…..

of course it’s inappropriate to dress like that at the bloody zoo! At a club? Fine.

SpringSunshineanddaffodils · 15/04/2025 21:45

I've never seen it before but I'm also getting the sense that people don't realise how much arse was on show.
I've nothing against a short skirt but this couldn't really be called a skirt. It did not cover ANYTHING around the back and the front was literally just covered with millimetre precision. ENTIRE arse just THERE. Not hanging out. Just entirely OUT. With thong for maximum effect.
I can't even find an Internet picture with a skirt short enough.

I encountered one walking around town last week. It could best be described as a peplum, and looked like she'd found some stretchy child's ra-ra skirt.
I presume there was a thong underneath...

It was sunny but there was still a chilly breeze. Hardly a heatwave or sunbathing conditions.

It's not the done thing in the UK or most of the urbanised world to walk around with buttocks on public display. Most people don't want to see it on people of either sex. The people that are happy to see that part of the body around and about are probably the type you really would not want the attention from, and don't need encouraging.

It's not too much to ask for buttocks and arse cracks to be covered up in public places. It seems to be a recent trend developing. I hope it passes quickly...

TheBuffetInspector · 15/04/2025 22:04

The thing is... That's really sad.

These girls are growing and maturing and LEARNING. They've gone out feeling confident.
I bet that girl who's sanitary towel you could see would be distraught at the fact that not only did someone notice, but whilst they're just getting used to sanitary wear - someone is posting about her on the Internet. Adults are posting pukey faces.

Imagine how you would have felt at 11, 12, 13 (you said the ages). Out with your friends, feeling confident, having a nice time, and then finding out later people could see her sanitary towel. Mortified I'd guess. It wouldn't end there either bullying wise if any of her peers had noticed. Not only is she on her period, we can see (probably just the wings of) her pad.

Minging. Puke. Disgusting. Chavvy. Ewww.

Is that the right language for an 11/14year old trying to be fashionable, having a nice time and getting out and about whilst dealing with her period?

I don't think so.

It's an anonymous forum, and the girl is young so she's hardly going to be on Mumsnet! And if she was, she probably wouldn't know it was about her anyway! Talk about virtue-signalling!

Trumptonagain · 15/04/2025 22:40

TheBuffetInspector · 15/04/2025 22:09

I can't see the difference. I don't want their arse cracks, their bellies, their hair nipples. I don't want to see any of it.

Subjected to it though over and over. Throughout life

Unlike 2 teenage who were being rebellious and will be wearing something different next week probably.

Don't even get me started on skimpy speedos.

Rebellious or not...
I don't think a lot of people want to see any hair be it arm pit, arse crack or minge, whether it's young, old, male, female or anything in between doing the lack of cloth, yes I did write cloth wearing.

Was a time, which I admit I do like to see, expressing yourself meant wacky coloured hair/make up, being individual, creativity...

Skimpy speedos...
Stop you'll give people ideas...

Teenage girls wearing skimpy clothes either to attract attention or to shock / annoy / outrage prudish, conservative older people. Never heard of such a thing happening before. Whatever next? 🙄

Edited

Teenagers would have something to say if middle aged women started baring their arse. I guess that makes them prudish and conservative.

Tiiiiina · 15/04/2025 22:41

Once all the problems in the world are resolved, I sound start worrying about this.

shellyleppard · 15/04/2025 22:42

If skirts get any shorter,
Said the fairy to the gnome,
There will be two more cheeks to powder and a bit more hair to comb
😂😂😂

Wildegeese · 15/04/2025 22:21

I often see girls with their bums out in tiny shorts in the summer.

I don't find it offensive- it's just a bum. But as an adult I do feel a bit weirdly protective of young girls dressed like this. They do it hoping boys/other kids their own age will see but they don't know how creepy and invasive adult men can be, and that makes me uncomfortable. They don't fully understand they attention they are inviting.

Having said that, creeps will assault women whenever they feel like it, whether the woman in question is wearing snow boots and a fleece or full business attire. In an ideal world we would all wear whatever the hell we want and be safe. But until we get there, kids need to be protected.

Edited

Why wouldn't you find it offensive? It's not "just a bum" - it's a private part that has a sexual function as well as a bodily function, same as all our private parts.

If it's "just" a bum then would you be OK with a bare penis at the zoo? After all, it's "just" a penis. What about bare breasts? They're just breasts.

ArseofOrion · 15/04/2025 22:43

and for those saying ‘ooh it’s totally normal for teenagers to push the boundaries and it’s always happened”……

please tell me at what point in modern history women were wearing super turbo mini skirts with their arses fully out as per the photo the OP shared! It’s a shocking thing to see especially when being worn by a fucking teenager!

Theres a teeny tiny part of me that would love to have the confidence (as a mid 40s woman) to walk around town with my full arse out. What would happen? Would the police rock up beside me and escort me to the local hospital 😆

I didn't wander around with my arse cheeks out, no.
And if I did wear anything a little risqué, it was when I went out clubbing, not while wandering around a family attraction in the middle of the day.

Just googled.
Like this OP?

Theres even shorter for sale on Amazon. Ones called lingerie and the other sexy!
Horrible !

It was probably better than the middle aged man in Lidl today with his jeans hanging halfway down his hairy arse crack.

Eughhhhhh

🤣🤣🤣 maybe all bums should be covered at all times!

I don't think you understand virtue signalling.

That's fine.

Why not hairy arsed middle aged or even older men!
Why not!

Lets all do it but especially for kids sporting events and parents evening!

Probably turn around to find a big baboons bright red arse in your eye line.

I don't like those either 🤣

I thought they were blue? 😂
