Bumcheeks fully on show at family attraction

Today I was at a local attraction aimed at young families. It's an outdoor attraction with a zoo, a few tame rides, a soft play, that sort of thing. Aimed at kids under 10.

There were two teenage girls there, probably about 16, didn't appear to be with anyone else, who were wondering around looking at the animals. One of them had on the shortest "skirt" imaginable. When I say bum cheeks were on show, I don't just mean a peek or a little glimpse. I mean the "skirt" ended almost at the top of her arse. It's truly was like a belt. Not only that but she was wearing a thong and fishnet tights. You could see her entire bum, and things were only just decent around the front.
She and her friend must have noticed quite a few shocked glances and maybe whispered comments because her friend said loudly "well that's THEIR problem isn't it"

Is it? AIBU to think its entirely inappropriate?

My grandmother was once scandalised by a similar outfit. I was only about ten years old but I can still remember what my DM said to her.

She told her it was the 90s and girls could wear whatever they liked as long as it's legal, no matter how classless or unflattering it may be. Besides, as a bonus they wouldn't be competing against Plum for the decent husbands.

A strange mix of feminist and chauvinist my mother 🤣

FleaBeeBob · 15/04/2025 22:03

I saw a teen wearing very similar at the train station yesterday!

AzurePanda · 15/04/2025 22:03

I find it profoundly depressing that young girls want to dress is such an overtly sexualised way.

Men have their arses, bellies and hairy backs out whenever they fancy.

Yeah but if they were to be wearing a barely there skirt and thong...

Who knows...
maybe even that'll be accepted in the not to distant future.

Posters will say to mind your own business and women/girls can wear what they want etc but i get you @OP. Last weekend, DS and i were at Brent cross shopping centre, several girls aged about 11-14 you could clearly see far too much of their inner thigh and one occasion as we went up the escalator, the girl in front's skirt was so short, you could see not only her skimpy pants but her sanitary towel. Grim!
They clearly think they look hot, and it's obvious they're doing this to get the boys' attention, but they're getting the wrong kind of attention.

The thing is... That's really sad.

These girls are growing and maturing and LEARNING. They've gone out feeling confident.
I bet that girl who's sanitary towel you could see would be distraught at the fact that not only did someone notice, but whilst they're just getting used to sanitary wear - someone is posting about her on the Internet. Adults are posting pukey faces.

Imagine how you would have felt at 11, 12, 13 (you said the ages). Out with your friends, feeling confident, having a nice time, and then finding out later people could see her sanitary towel. Mortified I'd guess. It wouldn't end there either bullying wise if any of her peers had noticed. Not only is she on her period, we can see (probably just the wings of) her pad.

Minging. Puke. Disgusting. Chavvy. Ewww.

Is that the right language for an 11/14year old trying to be fashionable, having a nice time and getting out and about whilst dealing with her period?

I don't think so.

I can't see the difference. I don't want their arse cracks, their bellies, their hair nipples. I don't want to see any of it.

Subjected to it though over and over. Throughout life

Unlike 2 teenage who were being rebellious and will be wearing something different next week probably.

Don't even get me started on skimpy speedos.

Absolutely this. I can still recall (twice)having comments I had on the street from mature women about the top of my thong sticking out over my jeans when I bent over (yes hello 2005)
jeans never fit me because I don’t have a waist so they were always riding down.
I’d think I looked ok then be humiliated by a stranger in public. I also assumed they were just trying to be really nasty and make a young woman feel shit- why else would they have done it?

plus, It was obviously no different to the many young men sloping around with their trousers half way down their bum- but I can guarantee those women so eager to tick me off on the street would not have even considered saying the same to young black man with a bandana on his head and his jeans hanging down over his boxers.
In fact, I’d bet my house they would’ve been terrified to.

I saw the exact outfit on a girl at the park on Saturday! Tiny skirt and literal full arse out 😆😆 it must be the trend of the moment for some reason that I don’t understand because I’m an out of touch aged millennial. No fishnets though which I guess elevated my one’s look lol lol

And will the teenage boys be wearing same on THEIR bottom halves? Thought not.

TrishM80 · 15/04/2025 22:12

This is "empowerment" apparently.

Oh good god! 🤮

Edited

It’s the men they get perving though as kids their own age are use to this way and have seen it all before .
Creepy men I think about when I see things like this .

JoyDreamer86 · 15/04/2025 21:40

Well maybe they need to extend the law to include not walking around with your WHOLE arse on display. Where does it stop- whole boobs out, vagina out, penis out, a line does need to be drawn

That'll probably be what people have on show in future as they'll want to keep pushing the boundaries.

AquaPeer · 15/04/2025 22:16

Not sure how you’d get your vagina out- surgery?

SpottedDonkey · 15/04/2025 22:17

Teenage girls wearing skimpy clothes either to attract attention or to shock / annoy / outrage prudish, conservative older people. Never heard of such a thing happening before. Whatever next? 🙄

I agree 🤣 just the way things are going!

Wildegeese · 15/04/2025 22:21

I often see girls with their bums out in tiny shorts in the summer.

I don't find it offensive- it's just a bum. But as an adult I do feel a bit weirdly protective of young girls dressed like this. They do it hoping boys/other kids their own age will see but they don't know how creepy and invasive adult men can be, and that makes me uncomfortable. They don't fully understand they attention they are inviting.

Having said that, creeps will assault women whenever they feel like it, whether the woman in question is wearing snow boots and a fleece or full business attire. In an ideal world we would all wear whatever the hell we want and be safe. But until we get there, kids need to be protected.

ItGhoul · 15/04/2025 22:21

AIBU to think the number of very detailed descriptions of underage girls in implausibly tiny clothes on this thread is suspiciously fucking creepy?

SpringSunshineanddaffodils · 15/04/2025 22:22

You won't believe me, but it was even shorter.

I've drawn it on in black.

That is literally my problem. The thing you just quoted.

You don't see this as a problem?

Yep - last we saw of a now ex friend who spent the entire evening fixated on a young woman in a short white dress - it was him judged. He made me feel sick.

Not really. We're mostly parents, openly and frankly discussing what we do or don't find acceptable and whether or not it's problematic, and why.

We're not sharing enjoyable experiences to get each other off.

If anything, it's kind of creepy to find it creepy.

No we are just concerned grown adult women (presuming mainly women).

Oh absolutely. You were flaunting yourself clearly! Putting it on display! That was a trend though then.
I still have no idea how young lads and some grown men manage to keep their trousers up with that - here's my pants look.

I'm just trying to work out years... I'm older than you... Anyway I was getting dressed, my son was 4 or 5. Inevitably I put a thong on, and he started singing the theme tune to Super Duper Sumos which was a cartoon out then.

Yes, Sumo wrestlers. They've got guts, great big butts! Apparently. 🤣

I'm clearly over it, nothing to see here. Not a thing. Thong.
