Bumcheeks fully on show at family attraction

Today I was at a local attraction aimed at young families. It's an outdoor attraction with a zoo, a few tame rides, a soft play, that sort of thing. Aimed at kids under 10.

There were two teenage girls there, probably about 16, didn't appear to be with anyone else, who were wondering around looking at the animals. One of them had on the shortest "skirt" imaginable. When I say bum cheeks were on show, I don't just mean a peek or a little glimpse. I mean the "skirt" ended almost at the top of her arse. It's truly was like a belt. Not only that but she was wearing a thong and fishnet tights. You could see her entire bum, and things were only just decent around the front.
She and her friend must have noticed quite a few shocked glances and maybe whispered comments because her friend said loudly "well that's THEIR problem isn't it"

Is it? AIBU to think its entirely inappropriate?

And where are the boys wearing skimpier and skimpier outfits? Why is the fashion for boys nothing like this? I’d like those who claim this is all fine and dandy to explain that to me.

And for those quoting mini skirts that they wore in the 1960s, when you see actual footage of that era, they weren’t that short. In fact many of them came quite far down the thigh.

Mini skirts weren’t but micro minis were, anyway I gave my opinion and stand by it, teens always try and shock the older generations as I said before

The point was, they were shocking for the time period. There'll be something else in 2045. Frothing at the mouth won't stop teenagers making strange fashion choices.

No, quite the opposite! It attracts predatory people and is a big no-no.

My point was, in an ideal world it wouldn’t be a problem because there wouldn’t be leery people perving over kids. But it’s far from an ideal world. Obviously.

I suspect the pps mentioning minis and micro-minis haven't seen the type of porno-wear 'clothing' the OP is talking about.

This style is not in any way a skirt, or shorts. It's purely designed to expose the arse-cheeks right up to the anus and to draw attention to this area.

When minis and micro-minis were in fashion in the 60s they caused a stir, yes. But they were made possible from a fashion viewpoint by the advent of panty-hose. I don't think anyone would have worn them then with stockings and suspenders and certainly not with bare buttocks and a thong!. Also, even when tights weren't worn, women wore actual pants with very short skirts and hot-pants - it certainly wasn't the norm to wear such items with a G-string. G-strings or thongs were more for dresses where a VPL might show.

You don’t have to be a pervert to notice a bare arse. And, given that a bare arse is at the back of the body, a man who finds it a turn-on is not necessarily going to know that it belongs to a young teenager.

Which is why a responsible parent would tell a child dressed as such to go and put some bloody clothes on.

It's not just a matter of perving. What about those of us who don't want to see, or be forced to contemplate, the arse cheeks of anyone at all? Bottoms might induce sexual thoughts in some but to me they bring to mind sitting on the loo, doing a poo and wiping your bottom. I'd rather this whole side of things was kept private, thanks.

If you choose to dress like that and someone says 'You look horrible - you're backside is putting me off my ice-cream!' you'd better be able to take it.

These were 60s "mini" skirts. With placards defending their right to wear them, in case anyone is in doubt that these were actual 60s mini skirts. They show legs, that's all. They are not even tight fitting.

This is not comparable to a completely bare arse. As you quite rightly say, proper underwear was worn.

To be honest, I haven't seen any of those in and around the town I live in!

Although postage is nearly as much as the skirt which may put a few off of purchasing.
