Disgusting, poor prison officers.

What to do with scum like this?

As if it wasn't bad enough about the bombing he planned, he now wants to attack staff?
Do we need him?

Hashem Abedi, Manchester Arena bomber's brother, attacks prison officers

Three officers have been treated in hospital, the Prison Service said, adding police were investigating.

How did he have access to hot oil and the makings of weapons? The system has failed those officers terribly.

Thank God he will never be out on our streets.

@PassingStranger What do you mean when you say "do we need him"?

are you saying he shouldn't be alive because he serves no useful function you can identify?

or are you saying he shouldn't be in this country?

it's a moot question, I guess, because I disagree with both those explanations.

but perhaps you have another interpretation that I've not thought of?

this is not to say that what he did wasn't wicked, it was. It's just questioning where you think he should be, if your mythical "we" don't need him.

@user1471453601

no, they’re saying it shouldn’t be alive ‘cos it hurts people. Hth.

Just to confirm, it's the bombers brother that did this. Evil the pair of them. What must their family think?

Their family were a direct part of the radicalisation of the brothers. Their father Ramadan was taking the boys out of school at a young age to go and fight with him in Libya's civil war... these boys didn't stand a chance. There are pictures of Hashem at what can't be more than 10, posing in Libya with a rocket propelled grenade over his shoulder. From the youngest age they were being deliberately indoctrinated by their own family into violent jihadist ideology and being trained in and desensitised to violence.

Prison officers aren't paid anywhere near enough just to put up with subhumans like this, nevermind the risk they pose. It's no wonder they're crying out for new staff.

FeedTheRoses · 13/04/2025 08:33

Frankland is high security, there should be no access to any kitchens or weapons for inmates.

The prison service has been run down.

£26,000 to work at a nearby detention centre.

Young women embarking on affairs with inmates.

Staff complaints about safety and staffing levels.

Not enough money, not enough high quality staff.

Two of our former neighbours, both prison officers left, as the jobs were not secure enough, staffing levels too poor.

AroundTheMulberryBush · 13/04/2025 08:37

PassingStranger · 13/04/2025 00:19

Yes, enough is enough, you can't expect prison officers to put up with him, he's obvs not worried about killing people.

This behaviour will continue and continue until someone is killed. He'll cost the taxpayer millions throughout the course of his life. He's of no use to anyone. Just be done with him. Or if that's not allowed then a single cell that he's locked in 24/7, till his dying day,,with a hatch for food to be put through.

It's unbelievable that someone like him, with his form, was given access to boiling hot oil. Whoever allowed that needs sacked and never work in a job again that needs the ability to form any kind of risk assessment.

JudgeMenthol · 13/04/2025 08:41

Having spent 30yrs as a female prison officer in male Prisons, it is likely sugar and boiling water was used.
Cutlery is plastic, but can be melted down by using a cigarette lighter, and melting the handle to a point.
Prisoners are allowed a razor blade, and the blade can also be melted into the handle of cutlery.
The kettle is an issue. In a similar setting tea in a big urn was accessible at certain times during the day, and prisoners would be allowed to get a cup of tea one at a time, supervised by 3 staff. That might sound old fashioned, but it saves staff being covered in boiling sugar and water.

Someone up thread mentioned that staff years ago were recruited from the military, who had life experience.. but now there is no common sense, no people skills, and an increasing number of female staff are becoming intimately involved with prisoners.
I enjoyed my job, and worked with some amazing staff, but I certainly wouldn't want to be doing that job today. Minimum staffing levels, a lack of common sense recruiting, and running a prison on a shoestring budget is just a recipe for disaster.

Really really awful.

'Put him down I say. Death penalty should come back for people like him'

His brother was a suicide bomber, they want to die they don't care. Sticking him in a room on his own without access to privileges or other people is far better punishment.

NotsosunnyShropshire · 13/04/2025 08:47

PassingStranger · 12/04/2025 21:26

Agree, he had 3 years added to his sentence for an attack in 2020.
He obvs does not care. What a nightmare for staff.

Of course he doesn’t care, he’s got nothing to lose.

CherryRipe1 · 13/04/2025 08:47

Nosleepforthismum · 13/04/2025 06:31

I’d happily pay for him to be sent to CECOT in El Salvador. Death is too light a sentence.

Or The Black Dolphin.

‘Dog-whistle racist’ is such an over-used term on here, usually by posters who think they’re clever and better than everyone else. People are allowed to express an opinion.

It’s to shut people up. Gordon brown started it in 2010 calling mrs Duffy “a bigoted woman” because she didn’t like the way her town was changing for the worse. Thorn berry had a go at white van man for hanging St George’s flags out their windows. Starmer has two tier justice against anyone that tweets out. Sentencing council going for whites.
basically labour and their supporters hate the white working class hence why they are flooding their areas with demographics known to do 20 times the rapes etc of the indigenous population.

He should be hung ! Yes dead . Killed!
Remove evil !

This is sad but also seems dangerous to us generally.

It's an extene example of the anti western sentiment bulding in the country tbh

What ? It's happening all the time so who cares??
'Dog whistle racist?! For what? Saying this happened??

I agree, the prison officers apparently have life changing injuries. That doesn’t happen all the time, and it’s not racist to say it happened! Absurd.

Waste of public money though.

Wishing14 · 13/04/2025 09:30

It’s not racist to state that we have a growing problem with Islamic terrorism/ gangs/ yobs and it is going to get worse.
As an aside, if a family or person flees a country claiming asylum based on persecution, but goes back and forth to said country, well clearly there is something wrong with that. So why is it allowed to happen?

Alwaysoneoddsock · 13/04/2025 09:35

MissAmbrosia · 12/04/2025 20:01

Do you think these things don't happen all the time? That prisoners attack dont staff and each other? This is just more fucking dog-whistle racist crap.

@MissAmbrosia I’m not being goady here but why do you think this is racist? This is a person who helped plan the murder of multiple children and young people and who has gone on to attack staff in prison. I genuinely can’t see why reporting this is racist and I’m interested to know why you think it is.

ruffler45 · 13/04/2025 09:41

PassingStranger · 12/04/2025 19:58

Why does he want to be a nasty bastard?

His future is pretty grim , a 55 year sentence he has nothing to lose but everything to gain for his "cause".

Most people though have no understanding about what happens in prisons. It’s a totally alien world. If you do come up against it, in my case visiting, you feel a real culture shock. And he is a convicted violent terrorist offender. That’s the fact, nothing racist about it.

And how is the future for the prison guards. He should be put into solitary and have no further privileges
He deserves nothing
His hatred has caused this suffering and now he deserves absolutely no humanity
He showed none

Karmakamelion · 13/04/2025 09:50

Teanbiscuits33 · 13/04/2025 00:32

I think the point that that poster is trying to make is that prisoners of all races and backgrounds attack staff and each other every single day, yet this particular incident has made mainstream news because of who he is and the implications of that. Correct me if I’m wrong but this seemed an obvious take to me.

The poster was trying to silence any criticism of what has happened by bleating insinuating an agenda.

Mylittlebobble · 13/04/2025 09:59

Police/army/prison officers were targets for the IRA in the 80s and 90s.
