Disgusting, poor prison officers.

What to do with scum like this?

As if it wasn't bad enough about the bombing he planned, he now wants to attack staff?
Do we need him?

Hashem Abedi, Manchester Arena bomber's brother, attacks prison officers

Three officers have been treated in hospital, the Prison Service said, adding police were investigating.

Being a prison officer must be one of the hardest and least appreciated jobs ever. Such a difficult job.

Yes I know a lady who joined the service 18 months ago in one of the countries worst prisons. Already she is deemed one of the most experienced and best officers due to the high turnover.

PonyPatter44 · 12/04/2025 21:14

I think the only realistic outcome is that high-security prisoners are no longer allowed to cook their own food. That won't go down well, but i don't see what else can be done to reduce risk.

According to this report, the officers have been refused stab-proof vests. Disgraceful.

Agree, he had 3 years added to his sentence for an attack in 2020.
He obvs does not care. What a nightmare for staff.

Also lots more staff so they’re not moving them about in groups like that.

Quote from the last attack in 2022
when asked whether he pleaded guilty or not guilty, Abedi said: "I did assault that filthy pig, but I don't see any wrongdoing."

why are they given any privileges?

EmeraldRoulette · 12/04/2025 22:13

I am also baffled he had access to boiling oil

does anyone know if that's normal, like access to a kitchen, or did he have to go out of the way to plan it?

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 12/04/2025 22:17

Convicted criminals who kill, main, or torture I say line em up against the wall and shoot them. Waste of oxygen.

maddening · 12/04/2025 22:19

PonyPatter44 · 12/04/2025 20:11

Unfortunately, he isn't serving a whole life sentence, so we have to try and rehabilitate him. I think we'd have more success teaching my cat to recite rhyming couplets in Swahili, but its what we have to do, because one day the piece of shit will come out of prison and no doubt hurt someone else. I'd still chop his hands off. Those poor officers.

Edited

He should be charged with 3 counts if attempted murder and the sentence for each to run consecutively- he shouldn't be let out after this.

Oh but he will be allowed out. Scum. They should just do away with him.

Ener · 12/04/2025 22:32

Those poor guards. Who would want that job?

Exactly. Dosent he wonder what the officers might think of him also.
What a weirdo.

Yes, enough is enough, you can't expect prison officers to put up with him, he's obvs not worried about killing people.

Do you think these things don't happen all the time? That prisoners attack dont staff and each other? This is just more fucking dog-whistle racist crap.

As a person of colour this shit really really fucks me off. Why shouldn't it be reported. The prison officers were burnt and stabbed. Should it not be reported because the evil cunt is a Muslim or because he isn't white? People like you saying shit like that causes racism

I think the point that that poster is trying to make is that prisoners of all races and backgrounds attack staff and each other every single day, yet this particular incident has made mainstream news because of who he is and the implications of that. Correct me if I’m wrong but this seemed an obvious take to me.

I would have thought it made it to the mainstream news because THREE prison officers were given life changing injuries. Sure prison officers will regularly get attacked and injured but not to this extent. I'm sure them being high profile also contributed, but I don't think it had anything to do with race.

I understand how they create the weapons.

I don't understand the access to hot oil. Was he working in a kitchen. Was it in a kettle?

Here in the US prisoners have jobs in prison, including in the kitchen. I don't know if they have access to oil but it wouldn't have occurred to me that they shouldn't have until just now.

After my father retired from the police department he actually took a job at a prison supervising the prisoners and one of their jobs. It was data entry, so it was just a bunch of guys at computers in a room. But they had guys working in the kitchen, laundry, the garden, etc.

It will have been taken from the kitchens somehow. If it wasn't oil, he'd just boil sugar and water in his cell kettle.

PassingStranger · 12/04/2025 19:58

Why does he want to be a nasty bastard?

Is that a genuine question you expect answered?

LoudSnoringDog · 13/04/2025 02:51

He should hang slowly. Disgusting piece of shit

Happyinarcon · 13/04/2025 05:39

This prison needs its management sacked, They are the ones responsible, their job is to manage violent offenders, not give them knives and cooking oil

Apparently no one wants the jobs here. The UK Govn are looking for people from abroad

APocketFullOfRye · 13/04/2025 06:01

I agree with the chair of the Prison Officers Association. Inmates in the separation facility should be given only their very basic entitlements

Let’s also be aware With only 10 prisoners in this facility it sounds extremely expensive to run.

Good point.
So then no kettles or cooking equipment of any kind in cells for personal use either.

If they are given just the basics they won’t need too many staff to move them anywhere.
