Is this unflattering for a bridesmaid?

My bridesmaids range in size from 8 to 12. No one happens to be plus size.

Would this dress flatter most of the women do you reckon?

We are late 20s

i have chosen to show the image of the plus size model as I think it highlights that it works on bigger sizes. What do you think?

I love this dress. I rarely love a dress but I do love this one.

That is lovely and much better fabric too!

I’m a very toned size 8 and I would feel uncomfortable in that and very exposed

CoughItUpLove · 10/04/2025 13:30

I really like it but the material would cling and look unflattering on even the slimmest figure, excellent smoothing shapewear would be required.

I do like this. I wish the sleeves were less fluttery

Edited

Buy these and have the sleeves taken off?

notatinydancer · 10/04/2025 13:35

Awful. Even at a size 8/12 people have lumps and bumps.
looks horrible cheap material , god knows what underwear you’d wear.

IhadaStripeyDeckchair · 10/04/2025 13:39

That dress is horrible
It looks like a posh 1980s night dress

No-one will look good in it

mochimoons · 10/04/2025 13:43

I think it's lovely and would be happy to wear that as a bridesmaid! I find this kind of cut flattering for me with an hourglass shape - and I would always wear shape wear under a bridesmaid dress which would smooth any bumps.

I do think it's hard to put everyone in the same dress though unless they have similar body types and would probably look at getting the same colour / fabric but different cuts for different shapes.

I do agree with other posters that this is nicer!

Sebsaloysius · 10/04/2025 14:30

You didn't just have a hen do in Mexico, did you.....

shipinfullsail · 10/04/2025 14:49

All underwear lines will show, bias cut is so unforgiving. It can be made to look good, if the dress is couture, and fitted to the figure of the wearer. That will be ££££££££ for a good result.

It looks like a car boot sale nighty

PinkiOcelot · 09/04/2025 22:05

It looks like a nightie.

Beat me to it

caringcarer · 10/04/2025 18:00

I'm sorry but that cut would not flattering on many people but the colour is nice. Any fat on upper arms would not be able to be disguised. It's not flattering around the bust and looks cheap.

Theoldwrinkley · 10/04/2025 18:09

Awful colour. It makes it look as if you aren't wearing anything.

caringcarer · 10/04/2025 18:11

Heronwatcher · 09/04/2025 22:20

If you must go for mauve why? what about something flowery. Since all your bridesmaids are slim they could definitely get away with something like this.

This is a much better style and looks good. Better around the bust.

user1472151176 · 10/04/2025 18:30

That material is not forgiving. I personally wouldn't want to wear it because of the material and the cut around the bust area

My thoughts exactly!

She looks as if she's got a p*nis!
I don't like the dress much, particularly on the larger model, but even on a slimmer model it would be very unforgiving.

ThisChic · 10/04/2025 18:55

My opinion will be unpopular, but I think it's a nice dress, and it looks nice on the model, who is mid/possibly lower plus size?

Besides, all of your bridesmaids are small to mid size.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 10/04/2025 19:02

I love the colour but would refuse to be a bridesmaid if I was expected to wear the dress

AprilBunny · 10/04/2025 19:03

Victoria and Harper wear a lot of the satin slip dresses. No help I know.

I have seen Victoria in real life. She looked absolutely lovely, but I am going to say - very, very petite.
