To wonder what happened to these old Mumsnetters?

There was Kewcumber who adopted from abroad as a single lady, there was a mum who always talked about her son Wilf, and there was a very direct, blunt and often right woman who I think wrote with no punctuation, who seemed to be on every thread and gave me lots of harsh truths! Going back a good decade now…

Anyone know what happened to them? Anyone else you wonder about?

Does anyone remember wannabesupermum or something like that? Brit in NY who stuck me as the most terrifyingly organised human on the planet

The poster i remember most from days of yonder is OpheliaRose.
i think she was chased of as being a troll but I remember her threads about having twins and her husband had left her

IMO she was a troll. Her posts were just far too polished. She ended up with about five threads in the end, dramatic enough to the extent of “he’s coming up the driveway right now,” and starting threads along the lines of “feeling great in my skinny jeans.”

But posters were a mix of lapping it up and treating it as the troll it clearly was.

Yes! I'd forgotten about her but I probably have screenshots somewhere of her advice.
I think she had lots of advice on private schools and / or working in a senior role with kids.

The trolls always have twins Grin it's a dead giveaway

Bit annoying for those of us who actually do have twins!

I have been on here since my children were very young, and my eldest is 24! On a couple of different profiles mind.
I remember Zombie, may she rest in peace. The Scottish lady? I forgot her name. A few more too.
I remember which poster you’re on about, the one lacking in punctuation. Didn’t she flounce once after giving everyone a mouthful? 😂

Fabbychic

I was trying to think of Fabbychic last night but the name was on the tip of my tongue, I couldnt get past ' flickychick'
Didn't she used to write from her attic or something?
There was one that was quite rude and interrupt think racist and possibly Irish. SomethingPunk. Again, I've got a mental block and can't get past Daft Punk.

AnyoneWhoHasAHeart · 04/04/2025 14:09

Was it daft punk?

Samcro · 04/04/2025 14:12

daftunk was dreadful, very anti sn and racist. it was odd as they started off ok.

Fuzzymuddle33 · 04/04/2025 14:17

I was around 18 years or so ago but in a different user name.

I changed my profile name as I didn’t want the links back to who I was as I feel like another person.

Maybe they have done the same?

Yes or being banned. I bet a lot of the old names were original trolls. We didn't used to question outlandish behaviour and opinions in the old days.

Was it daft punk?
Quite possibly. I was wondering if I was getting confused with a similar sounding name with the band.

WinterBones · 04/04/2025 14:32

recognise a lot of these names, i've been around on and off since 2006, but i name change a lot.. got some of the folk mentioned here on FB so i assume they might recognise me occasionally when i post about something i've moaned about on my FB.

Does anyone remember theincrediblesteamingnit?
Intried to avoid getting on the wrong side of her.

DooWapDooWap · 04/04/2025 19:06

Can anybody remember a lady who's baby died, think it was just after her first birthday. She started posting when she was pregnant and didn't think baby was going survive the pregnancy. Her username was something like cupoftea

Not sure if it's the same person but somebody had a daughter called Eilidh who died young too.

DooWapDooWap · 04/04/2025 20:07

Ah. Ailidh was @expatinscotlanddaughter. She died aged 9 in 2012.

Expat was friends with @giraffescantdance

DooWapDooWap · 04/04/2025 20:10

And @cupofteapleasebaby girl Beatrice died, also in 2012. She was 13 months old.

Other names from that time. NorthernLurker, Sirzy, SirChengin

Delphigirl · 04/04/2025 20:12

Oh I loved expatinscotkand and the death of her lovely daughter of leukaemia was utterly heartbreaking. She sounded like such a wonderful unusual spirited little girl.

Yes, I remember her. Her story was very sad and she was so brave. I was very moved by her posts.

Borris · 04/04/2025 20:54

I remember sobbing at cupofteaplease update that her lovely daughter had died.
Anyfucker was the first person to say that she believed me about my abusive relationship - I got out eventually
ticktock gave me so much bf advice

Sabire9 · 04/04/2025 21:09

I was on mumsnet all those years ago. I posted under the username Shagmundfreud. I mainly posted about the trauma I was going through with my profoundly oppositional, mentally ill and violent young teenage daughter - used to post a lot on the teenagers board. I was absolutely broken by it and it nearly ended my marriage.

My daughter's 25 now, still lives at home and works in a responsible job helping category one ex offenders resettle into life outside of prison. She looks back at her teenage years and is horrified. She doesn't understand why she was like that. We have a lovely relationship.

I honestly would have cracked without the kindness and understanding I got off other posters who were also going through a lot of problems with their teenagers.

Dodgyormymind · 04/04/2025 21:14

I remember a lot of the old names but often think about FV45. Spent a long time planning her escape from her abusuve husband. Managed it and seemed to disappear, probably for anonymity.

Really hope her new life worked out well.

Sabire9 · 04/04/2025 21:18

Does anyone remember the Chutney Wanker? Also known as 'the chutney twunt'.

That was of the best mumsnet stories ever. On the relationships board. She first found out she'd been left for another woman when she got home and he'd upped and fucked off - taken his collection of chutneys out the fridge and disappeared.

The story unfolded slowly over a period of weeks. I was GRIPPED.

Cremolafoam · 04/04/2025 21:28

I was in actual fact at that meet-up in London ( the Hat and Tun was it? ) Met many wonderful mumsnetters there including Marslady, and many others. It was a wild old night afair. Drink was taken, dancing happened and MNJustine turned up with merch.

I’ve NCed over the years, many a time, but I remember so really old souls, from when MN was only just up and running. Cod, MorningPaper, MarsLady Slug, Rhubarb, Custardo, Enid, MaloryTowers, Marina, Expat, VVV, CountessDracula, Beetroot, Boko, JulesToo, Twiglett, LittleLapin… then a load of them disappeared in a puff of Moldie smoke. Those who were there know what I’m on about.
I miss BitofFun, she was beautiful and very kind.

I think I’ve been on here around 16/17 years and recognise a fair few of those names. People stayed with the same name for ages back then. Now with data leaks and trolls, I name change a lot more often.

MotherOfCatBoy · 04/04/2025 22:00

I remember the Christmas secret Santa’s and I packed a box at least two years. Had a different name then. I drifted away from MN and when I came back was sad to see that they had apparently been taken advantage of and gone sour. It was good while it lasted.

Is Xenia still around?

I hope not. She was awful. Flaunting her wealth and with absolutely no awareness other people didn’t have the privilege she did.
