To wonder what happened to these old Mumsnetters?

There was Kewcumber who adopted from abroad as a single lady, there was a mum who always talked about her son Wilf, and there was a very direct, blunt and often right woman who I think wrote with no punctuation, who seemed to be on every thread and gave me lots of harsh truths! Going back a good decade now…

Anyone know what happened to them? Anyone else you wonder about?

Wilf’s mother and sometimes Wilf posted on the Strictly 2024 thread. I saw no evidence whatsoever that he was being exploited by anyone.

The lady was it bananafish who had a terrible time with ivf and losses ?

Izzyizzin (sp?) Gave good relationships advice. She got outed by a weird obsessive type.

Ooh seconded! I learned loads from her posts.

I think the concern was/is just that Wilf’s mum often linked to thinks that made their RL identities public. Doxxing yourself isn’t very sensible, and the concern is multiplied for vulnerable disabled teens or adults.

I’ve never heard it said that she was exploiting him. More a safeguarding and online safety thing.

I think she died. Wasn’t she from Kent? I hope I’m not muddling her with someone else.

Maybe it wasn't exploitation exactly, but there was definitely a lack of safeguarding as Wilf's mum put a lot of information about him on a public forum.

Ugh. Not another one of these fucking "pick me" threads idolising posters from old.

I’ve NCed over the years, many a time, but I remember so really old souls, from when MN was only just up and running. Cod, MorningPaper, MarsLady Slug, Rhubarb, Custardo, Enid, MaloryTowers, Marina, Expat, VVV, CountessDracula, Beetroot, Boko, JulesToo, Twiglett, LittleLapin… then a load of them disappeared in a puff of Moldie smoke. Those who were there know what I’m on about.
I miss BitofFun, she was beautiful and very kind.

I miss Worra, and hope AnyFucker is still around.

Another memorable poster was GhostSpirit, but I’m pretty sure she’s still here under a different name.

I wonder about Sparklingbrook. I think our children were around the same age as we always seemed to be on the same threads ( I’ve changed names many times, and even made a whole new account after that big data leak a few years ago)
