I get a bag from my child. Who then asks to share them. No. Absolutely no. AIBU for a bit more thought? I don't like that I'm expected to share, they've gone off in a huff and my OH is also in a huff.

I got some chocolate and hid them until after bedtime when I ate them. Apparently that makes me the devil to some people.

But did you refuse to give your six year old one measly mini egg causing them
to be upset, upsetting your husband in the process, and then start a thread about how your six year old is BU?
Pages and pages of people saying horrible things about a young child. This is why i rarely read or post here anymore.

Your child is six. You're an adult with your own income. If you wanted something bigger and better, what's stopping you from buying it yourself?

CroissantOfFur · 31/03/2025 22:53

FWIW, I don't think you're bad for not wanting to share, but it's the fact you are being stroppy about it and spoiling the day. Your 6 year old should not have to feel responsible for your disappointment. That poor little child.

If you've read pages and pages then surely you've already seen me answer that question?

It isn't horrible to say no to a child.
