What a horrible thread which was no doubt the aim by mentioning good genes when it’s obvious she has had procedures. Posters have said the following

And mumsnet leave comments like this up. I thought mumsnet didn’t allow personal attacks? And mumsnets tagline is ‘making parents lives easier’, I’m sure this will make their lives feel great if they read her for advice being new parents. And to everyone who has had a child bullied and upset due to comments about their ears, I’m sure it’s helping them too right?

I heard her once say that she still has treats and the odd Chinese take away etc. She says she will just go to the gym the next day and work out, and eats very healthily the rest of the time.

Yeah, in Our Girl and Ten Pound Poms she looked weird, because she was meant to be a soldier in Our Girl, and a woman in the early 1950s in Ten Pound Poms. Her face looked so much out of place in Ten Pound poms. No-one had bloody botox and fillers then! And would a female soldier really be pootling around with a full face of make up and fillers and botox? Daft really.

She’s had a lot of work done, although she’s had it done quite subtlety over the years and hasn’t gone overboard. She knows her angles too, she’s very pretty but I don’t agree that’s it’s all down to her genes.

Exactly, that's what Im saying. Working off the calories from the odd Chinese takeaway in the gym when you are very slim is pretty disordered. Shes under huge pressure to do that.

I caught a bit of that programme she's in at the moment about Brits in Oz - and it was jarring how silly she looked in the 1950's clothes and waved hair with a face full of fillers!

The concept of treats is also quite dodgy. It's just food. Take it or leave it.

It is, but easier than the average person when the gym is in your own home, and you have the means for a personal trainer/nutritionist etc.

I would consider a take away as a treat too, because we rarely have them.

She absolutely wasn't ugly before, obviously. I meant it in general terms.

I just think some women on here have extremely low standards and that makes me sad. I am glad my husband is just nicer than the men I read about on here. Perhaps if multiple posters are telling your husband’s behaviour is unacceptable, there’s something in it?

I don’t think you have any idea about my standards. We’re strangers on a forum and you’re making an assumption based on an isolated post. I find that a massive stretch and I find it sad that you need feel the need to question the value of my marriage as a result.

The old photo you’ve used there is quite an odd one imo, I was trying to post one earlier where she’s younger and did her make up different, but she definitely looks like the same woman I used to watch as Tina in Corrie. Not denying she’s had surgery etc, I’ll bow to your superior knowledge on that but you’re being a bit OTT saying she looks like a completely different person.

it isn’t an assumption. I am making a judgement based on the information you have given me, which is that your husband comments negatively on the way women look. I am very glad my husband doesn’t do that because men who do that are very small and very sad. I am glad the men around me are better than that.

But the judgement is based on one snapshot, so it’s a very limited, ill informed and incorrect one.

Does your husband know you fantasise about Bruce Springsteen when you’re having have sex with him? That’s not an assumption. That’s a judgement as you’ve said yourself “he’s the most attractive man in the world to you”. And yes, I know you’ve only said that in one single post, and I know nothing else about you, your marriage or your husband, but you’ve provided that one piece of information, so it must be correct yes?

As I said, you don’t know about my marriage or my standards or my husband and can’t possibly leap to that conclusion from a single snippet of information from one conversation during our 15 years together. Please stop reaching.

Everyone uses that photo to show that she looks like a completely different woman. It's an old photo that is not the most flattering.

Of course she has changed with age, style and surgery, but she is not completely unrecognisable.
