To suspect the "deal" between the US and Russia Greenland for Ukraine?

1000 replies

FancyRedRobin · 05/03/2025 09:02

The way things are shaping up I'm beginning to think the USAs negotiations with Putin were for USA to stand aside and let Putin have part of Ukraine and for Russia to support the US to take Greenland.

This shouldn't be a surprise, the US is huge compared to Europe and represents a lot of different geographical regions and cultures. An American can travel the same distance on holiday as a European and not leave the country.

Plus, the ocean is a real barrier.

It’s not just travelling internationally they are missing out on, many don’t leave their own state. Some schools don’t even teach world history and geography.

Ways Current U.S. Actions Make Things Better

Economic Growth: Policies like tax cuts and deregulation have been credited with boosting economic growth and reducing unemployment.
Energy Independence: The U.S. has focused on energy independence, reducing reliance on foreign oil and bolstering domestic energy production.
Trade Policies: The "America First" trade policies aim to protect American industries and reduce trade deficits.
National Security: Increased defense spending and a focus on cybersecurity have strengthened national security.

Is It All Smoke and Mirrors?

While some critics argue that these policies are more about optics than substance, there are tangible results, such as job creation and economic growth. However, the long-term sustainability of these gains is debated, especially given concerns about income inequality and environmental impact
Future USA: Long-Term Improvements

Technological Advancements: Investments in research and development could drive innovation.
Infrastructure Development: Plans to modernize infrastructure aim to improve connectivity and economic efficiency.
Healthcare and Education: Reforms in these areas could lead to a healthier, more skilled workforce.
Global Leadership: Strengthened alliances and strategic policies could maintain the U.S.'s position as a global leader.

Distinction Between Global Power and Everyday Life

There's often a gap between what benefits the U.S. on the world stage and what improves daily life for Americans.

For example:
Global Power: Policies that enhance military strength or economic dominance may not directly address issues like healthcare or education for citizens
Everyday Life: Domestic policies focused on social safety nets, affordable housing, and healthcare have a more immediate impact on Americans' quality of life.

Are you just copying and pasting stuff you find on the internet/chatgpt with no real understanding of/critical thinking?

They seem to have a lot of ready made answers handy to copy and paste at will. Kind of makes you wonder.

Serpentstooth · 08/03/2025 08:46

Obviously so. Don't waste your time engaging, it's a lovely day, go out.

Parker231 · 08/03/2025 08:54

Meanwhile Trump has apparently told Trudeau that "he did not believe that the treaty that demarcates the border between the two countries was valid" also wants to "revisit" "sharing of lakes and rivers between the two nations."

He’s becoming more irrational - needs removing asap before he does even more harm. One good thing to come out of it is that Canadian patriotism is at a all time high which you can’t say about the US.

Latest from Trump: "Canada and Mexico have been taking advantage of us for years!"
Fact: Donald Trump personally negotiated the last trade agreement with Mexico and Canada

Precisely.

As I pointed out on the other thread, his comment about it is probably the first time he's ever told the truth.

He said it was signed by a moron.

Serpentstooth · 08/03/2025 09:14

He is an absolute danger to everyone, even the bootlickers who are clinging on to him in the hope they'll benefit. Hey, guys holed up in shacks with an armoury, he is not your saviour and defender, he is what you fear made flesh. He is the government you have feared will come for you and your cherished 'freedoms'. Open your eyes chaps, he's here and you have put him there.

LovingHare · 08/03/2025 09:19

@CerealPosterHere i use a mix of sources media, google, wikipedia, to try to keep upto date with trump as soon as one article is released trump is x.y.z etc then another article needs researching etc

Fact checkers are being kept very busy due to the number of blatant lies and misinformation Trump keeps spouting. Unfortunately too many Americans actually believe him🤣

From your posts you are obviously not fact checking what Trump is saying. He’s almost falling into the same category as Netanyahu with war crimes.

What increased Defense spending are you referring to, @LovingHare ? Sec Def has just announced year on year spending cuts of 8% for the next five years.

Yes, it's clear which posts aren't their own thinking. Because the copying and pasting doesn't seem to have forgotten its correct spellings and capitalisation.

No mate, we’re really not stupid. We know exactly what you’re up to.

poetryandwine · 08/03/2025 10:07

Again, @LovingHare , we may ask what investments in R&D you refer to as contracts with federal agencies are being cancelled left and right?

On the subject of health care reforms, so far we have RFK at HHS failing to advocate for the vaccine even during a measles outbreak in TX and NM that has already killed 2. We have the former head of NIH, Francis Collins MD PhD FRS (For Mem), who led the project mapping the human genome, forced into retirement ahead of Trump’s appointee to head the agency taking up post.

We’re watching how Trump’s trade policies are playing out in the US stock market. Not doing so well, is it? I do have skin, in the form of my American pension, in that game. The fact that business leaders do not dare to criticise Trump openly should not be confused with approval.

We in the UK have seen almost nothing but the US alliances discussed on the news lately, and not because they are being strengthened. Quite the opposite.

Your point that what benefits Americans might differ from what makes America a good world citizen is superficially appealing (to Americans, at least). But it is historically false to some extent. America tends to be a leading indicator.

Parker231 · 08/03/2025 10:08

According to an article in The Telegraph, Trump's betrayal has catastrophic consequences in Ukraine.

10,000 Ukrainian soldiers face encirclement in Kursk region - the main offensive against the Ukrainian armed forces began right after the US stopped sharing intelligence with Ukraine.

Trump is a war criminal.

SunsetCocktails · 08/03/2025 10:16

Nah mate if you're doing detailed analysis then you're copy and pasting. Therefore not your own thoughts and research, someone else's.

Serpentstooth · 08/03/2025 10:19

That skim reading isn't doing you any favours lovinghare I hope you're not expecting to gain your degree by that process. Or did you gain one from Trump University?

Parker231 · 08/03/2025 10:42

I don’t usually pay any attention to Wikipedia but agree with this from Trump’s page.

Trump is the central figure of Trumpism. Many of his comments and actions have been characterized as racially charged, racist or misogynistic, and he has made false and misleading statements and promoted conspiracy theories to a degree unprecedented in American politics.

Are you really American? What American uses the phrase “uni”? I’m beginning to think you actually are a Russian using a bad spellchecker/translate program.

what spell checker changes the spelling of “appreciate” to an incorrect spelling?

And yes I agree it’s obvious which of his posts have been copied and pasted from elsewhere and equally obvious he doesn’t understand those posts.
