To want to help Ukraine- is there ANYTHING we can do????

I am just so sad watching Zelensky. He's had his country invaded by Russia, fought for survival and now he's got Trump and Vance gaslighting him. Mumsnet, there's posts every day on here about this sort of behaviour, but usually it is happening in playgrounds. Wonderful advice is given. But this is not a playground. This is the world. How can we/ the little people help? I feel so so helpless. Please give ideas? Can we do something to support Ukraine and potentially change the future?

Yes- frankly, we, the little people have nothing we can do to help.
No- We need to fight to help Ukraine and keep Europe safe (and here's my idea....)

Based on what evidence? I've met plenty of Ukranian women and young people here in the uk who don't agree with you. However the Ukrainian men here in the UK? Who knows? They refuse to even learn English. Despite being apparently professionally qualified.

We can do something. Boycott the US. So everyone said what will a boycott do when Trump put tariffs on Canada? Well Canadians responded. We put a dent in their tourism revenue by 400million dollars. We took American alcohol off our shelves - to the tune of a billion dollars in sales year year.

Boycott American goods. There are many websites which can help.

Stop travelling to the US. There are other places to go and you are effectively supporting a dictator.

Sigh a petition.

Write to your MP.

The UK is capitulating. Think about this - we have offered a state visit to a man who wants to take over a sovereign commonwealth country whose head of state is THE KING. Why are we rewarding this behaviour?

@PandoraSox the solid reasoning is he's still out begging for more and not winning. In two years he's had nearly £100 billion from America alone. You cannot tell me that's not enough money and that's without handouts from everyone else.

Well thank goodness all those Allied countries didn’t have the same response during WW2. Especially ones with no skin in the game so to speak - Canada. Australia. New Zealand and even the US.

How much has Russia spent to not win the war so far? War is expensive!

We should start donating to Ukraine again. Taking evacuees into our homes. Paying the wages of their public sector etc.

@Rainingalldayonmyhead I've lost a family member in Afghanistan and I wouldn't wish it on anyone so excuse me for not throwing myself or my family on the frontline but we've lost enough for pointless wars that politicians and their children never fight in. I'm extremely anti war and I would protest again if it came to it, not that Blair listened last time.

They haven't been given "billions" to spend. They have been given a mixture of equipment and funds, and the funds are in a UN-managed trust - it isn't for Ukraine to freely spend.

Not if we keep restricting what they are and are not allowed to use or do with limited choices of weapons we allow them to have...
Not as if Russia is doing as well as expected, as I say, having to ship in reinforcements and still can't win.
