To want to help Ukraine- is there ANYTHING we can do????

I am just so sad watching Zelensky. He's had his country invaded by Russia, fought for survival and now he's got Trump and Vance gaslighting him. Mumsnet, there's posts every day on here about this sort of behaviour, but usually it is happening in playgrounds. Wonderful advice is given. But this is not a playground. This is the world. How can we/ the little people help? I feel so so helpless. Please give ideas? Can we do something to support Ukraine and potentially change the future?

Only Putin can stop him, which is why the pressure on the Russian economy must be maintained. Any ceasefire which is not permanent only buys the Russians time to regroup and rearm before going in for the kill.

Personally I look across a range of mainstream sources. I do not get facts from social media. I like the FT because it’s a paper that needs to tell its readers the truth so they can make money from investments. If it’s not accurate, its readers lose money. The subscription is expensive though unless you get it through work.

If you’ve lost faith in the mainstream, it’s going to be hard to find something you trust. Sorry I can’t help on that score.

In terms of coping with the world being a scary place, spend time in green places, take deep breaths and say yes to seeing people. It’s hard at the moment. Take care of yourself.

It is up in the air rn anyway. Europe cannot do it without US and there's the security issue, hard to know what leaders will advise Zelenskyy tomorrow.

Normal people want Putin to end it. He can do that right now. If he doesn’t, he needs to be made to.

That’s not what anyone is saying. @DdraigGoch has already said that Ukrainians are fighting because it’s their homeland. We are supporting them, as is right. If Putin marched up your drive how would you feel? Would you want the able bodied in your country to fight and have support from other countries? Or would you cave in to stop the blood shed? Knowing it wouldn’t stop the bloodshed anyway, just extend it.

There are no easy answers. People are going to die either way. If we just roll over it won't be the end of the bloodshed. Georgia will be next.

What do people think is happening with conscripts?

It's all a bit removed. It's not post Ukrainian colours on SM support and be done or say we must fight on parenting sites and feel good.

The awful reality is thousands of deaths, on all sides.

As for people offering to step in as I said I'm ok if they want to do that. But be realistic about what is happening daily before posting keep going.

So what is those peoples wish/solution then? Obviously most people in Ukraine don't want the war, so what is their proposal if not to fight against an invasion, just let it happen?
