Just that is you’re wash / laundry basket empty right now? This isn’t a post to make anyone feel bad I feel like I'm forever doing washing day to day clothes, uniform, gym stuff, towels, bedding, pet covers I know we all do this but if anyone has any good tips or routines they’ve got into please share! Also is anyone else exited to get the washing out on the line with some sun or is it just me? Lol :)

No, and there are no children in our house. Though I tend to do all my laundry on a Saturday morning.

PiastriThePastry · 25/02/2025 12:59

Nowhere even close. I’ve got a full basket of clean washing to fold and put away and a double hamper of dirty washing still to be washed! We’re farmers with a toddler and a baby imminently due so basically the washing is never, ever done 🤣 annoying really as I did four loads of washing yesterday and yet here we still are!

Kbroughton · 25/02/2025 12:59

Not only do I not have an empty laundry basket, i have a bathroom with my daughters clothes still on the floor from her bath on Sunday, and two towels in the kitchen with dog sick on them that I had to leave this morning as I was running late for work. Hey ho, such is life. No one has died and we are all generally clean and helathy.

InTheWild · 25/02/2025 13:00

No.

It has only happened once that I can remember..the summer of 2022😄

I have about 3 loads to do at the moment.

Winter is rubbish for many reasons, not being able to dry washing in a reasonable time is one of them.

Roll on sunnier days.

Bojheybuddy · 25/02/2025 13:01

There’s a handwash only top that has been in the bottom of the basket since last Summer

Ponderingwindow · 25/02/2025 13:01

Yes, because I own multiple laundry baskets. Only some of them are full and waiting to be put away.

ManchesterLu · 25/02/2025 13:02

It's only me and DP in the house these days. It's not empty at the moment, as we've been away, but by the end of the day it will be.

MiddleAgedDread · 25/02/2025 13:02

No, there’s 2 loads of bedding and a few other bits filling mine.

MumChp · 25/02/2025 13:04

Less than one load in ours. Did laundry yesterday. Laundry day is Friday but I'm out of this this week.

Bubblemonkey · 25/02/2025 13:05

We’ve got 2 wash baskets, they’re both rammed. I’m on a mission the next few days to gut the house.

WhatsTheEffingPoint · 25/02/2025 13:06

As of this minute yes I finally do! The last of it is on the airer and in the dryer.
I've done 7 or 8 loads since Saturday all washed, dried and some bits sitting in a pile to be put away.
By the end of tonight the basket will be full again as i need to change the towels in the bathroom.

Hooplahooping · 25/02/2025 13:09

3 washes every Tuesday and 3 every Friday for our family of 5 - so see the bottom twice a week. Definitely had a few years with very small children where it built up faster than it was washed though.

Skandar · 25/02/2025 13:12

Pretty much, yes - just a few bits that will go in the machine in a bit (currently washing FIL's clothes as he's in hospital). We basically put a load on everytime there's enough in the basket. Occasionally it gets a bit full and I do a couple of loads in a day. There are only three of us if that makes a difference.

Rainbow1235 · 25/02/2025 13:13

empty basket here too but have got 4 loads to dry 😳

stayathomer · 25/02/2025 13:14

Yes but three that aren’t😂😂😂

backawayfatty1 · 25/02/2025 13:14

Nowhere near! Washing machine was out of action for 3 days so with 5 of us, it has built up! I'm working on it today 😂

Cattery · 25/02/2025 13:19

King size duvet cover and a fur blanket washed together today. Never again. They tied in such a tight knot I thought I’d have to bin them. Machine didn’t like it at all. Finally separated them and spun them separately. Blanket is drying in the garden. Dark wash on now. Whites tomoz. Hardly ever have an empty washing basket.

FuckMeUpFlorida · 25/02/2025 13:22

This has happened to me twice and I've taken a picture to prove to myself it is possible! It would be emptier far more if I threw whites in with colours etc which I'm not prepared to do so there's always a nightie lurking in the bottom.

Bippityboppitybooo · 25/02/2025 13:25

Yes. Because the kids and dp have instead of opening the laundry basket, created a mountain on top of it and on the floor around it. As you do...

BrownieBlondie01 · 25/02/2025 13:31

Never.

wherearemypastnames · 25/02/2025 13:33

Technically it's empty

Because it's not been taken upstairs so stuff is on the bedroom floor ( or in the washing machine )

SardinesOnGingerbread · 25/02/2025 13:34

I don't understand this question.

stopringingme · 25/02/2025 13:34

The only time the washing baskets were empty was the day we bought them.

Roll on summer when we get close to empty baskets.

AddictedToBooks · 25/02/2025 13:36

My laundry basket is empty but only because I've been home all week and I've recently bought a dryer - otherwise it would be far from empty.

I am really looking forward to pegging the washing out on the line though - that's actually my favourite part of Spring/Summer

RhinestoneCowgirl · 25/02/2025 13:36

Piles of dirty laundry here, it's depressing. Our washing machine broke last week and new one not being delivered until later this week. And it's lovely drying weather today as well!
