Just that is you’re wash / laundry basket empty right now? This isn’t a post to make anyone feel bad I feel like I'm forever doing washing day to day clothes, uniform, gym stuff, towels, bedding, pet covers I know we all do this but if anyone has any good tips or routines they’ve got into please share! Also is anyone else exited to get the washing out on the line with some sun or is it just me? Lol :)

It’s completely full today… but I will let myself off as I have four bed sets to wash and dry 😅

LovelessRutting · 25/02/2025 12:34

Yes, do a load every evening after kids bedtimeas the kids have expensive pe kit, pe most days and I’m too tight to buy spares. I have a large enough machine that I can do everything except whites and bedding in one daily wash. Then I hang it to dry overnight on an airer next to the dehumidifier and it’s dry and can be put away (or worn again) in the morning.
Bedding is washed at the weekend on a 4hr wash/dry cycle and put straight back on the bed.
Nothing sits around too long through necessity as we don’t have spares.

Lammveg · 25/02/2025 12:35

It's been 84 years...

Milodon · 25/02/2025 12:35

Absolutely not 😂 we went away a few weeks ago and still have laundry from that, then had guests this weekend so have extra towels and sheets to wash, on top of the normal stuff. No dryer here and not line drying weather yet so it’ll take a little while to catch up.

XxSideshowAuntSallyx · 25/02/2025 12:35

No, I currently have a load but will put it on when I've been to the gym later. I've also got two bits of dry cleaning that have been in the bottom for about 2 years. I keep thinking I may just put it in the machine and risk it.

Secularbeaver · 25/02/2025 12:37

Washing machine is on.
I'm 2 weeks post baby number 3.
Send help. And clean bedding.

Shetlands · 25/02/2025 12:41

No it's full of damp dog towels and smelly dog toys. Will be empty later but then I'll change the beds ... it never ends and I don't even have children at home anymore!

offmynut · 25/02/2025 12:41

Yes i do done a load this morning from the washer to the dryer packed away.
I might get a full load once a fortnight.

RaspberryCombat · 25/02/2025 12:43

Don’t be silly. If it were empty, where would the things requiring a wool wash / hand wash live? 😳

Lanzarotelady · 25/02/2025 12:45

Yes, but in 5 mins I will have a dish cloth and a tea towel.
I dd a load overnight and have pegged them out and did 2 hoodies this morning both, I have a load in the dryer waiting to be folded

TY78910 · 25/02/2025 12:28

Can you imagine if there was a stash of gold at the bottom and we will just never know?

haha it would be a good place to hide something in this house!

Yes it is. We've had two sunny, perfect drying days here. Bedding has been washed line dried and put back on and blankets have been aired. I've done a towel wash and I am very happy.

Note. There's only me and DD so I don't have a houseful and it's half term here so I have time on my hands.

Haaa I’m doing so much washing today as we going away for a week tomorrow and I’ve loads to get dry before we leave! I’ve a baby and a toddler and it’s never ending 🤣 we live in a flat and always had to dry inside - however last year my husband installed a retractable washing line outside my bedroom window - it’s the best thing I ever got 🤣🤣 I have to climb out the window to use it but it’s well worth it

I’d do the same to be fair lol

I usually manage this once a year, after a streak of hot sunny days. The rest of the year I feel as though I'm living in a launderette.

By this stage of winter, I'm snapping at my kids if they don't get lots of wear out of clothes before they go in the wash...

Mymanyellow · 25/02/2025 12:50

You can empty a laundry basket? Who knew?

Could you fall to your death 😮 Just reading your post gave me the panics 😱

Climpy · 25/02/2025 12:27

No, because it's Tuesday. But we empty the basket every weekend. I don't know how people wash every day - I would find that much harder.

Well there's 5 adults in my house, we probably produce 3 loads each at least. Probably more like 18-20 loads total! Realistically we could never just leave it till the weekend! Maybe if there's only 1 or 2 in the household. Also kids now do their own (after a fashion) so need to spread it out through the week or it would be chaos!

GroovyChick87 · 25/02/2025 12:53

Empty at the moment but I've just done 2 loads as I did the beds. It'll be filled up again by tonight.

Ellie56 · 25/02/2025 12:54

I do not understand.

What is this empty laundry basket you speak of?

DiscoBeat · 25/02/2025 12:54

Just a tablecloth for a boil wash!

Farinz · 25/02/2025 12:56

No but I am on top of it. I do a load a day so it’s rare for the basket to be completely empty but there aren’t loads and loads waiting to be done either

mitogoshigg · 25/02/2025 12:57

Not currently as I last did it Sunday, I do 2-3 loads a week.

BobnLen · 25/02/2025 12:58

Pretty much but there are only two of us and I always do a couple of big washes on Sunday when the electric is half price, I shall probably do the next wash on Thursday
