If you really can't see the problem with projecting a whole bunch of assumptions onto a person based solely on their appearance then we're regressing as a species at an alarming rate.

And yet it’s not solely on her appearance, is it. it’s about the fact that she chose this and what the reason for that is. People would have different reactions to someone who had lost their nose for some other reason like an accident, drug use or assault.

We all make snap judgements about people based on their appearance all the time - I bet there isn’t anyone who can see who doesn’t. It’s how we assess our safety, who we might get on with best, who to approach or avoid. If this woman didn’t care about appearances why would she go out of her way to look like this? I’d bet my house she judges people who look conventional or boring.

If she wants to do it and she likes the results... it is not harm.

Fine to discuss, but we seem to have several armchair psychiatrists think they know better than a lady who has had extensive body mods and is into the body mod scene.

And the people who comment about how her face will scare kids... come on. That is horrible. I have a friend who has Bells Palsy, and she has heard kids say horrid things about her face. Teach your kids to have some tact when they see someone who is different.

But she is different by choice @XenoBitch, quite different to having a condition like Bells Palsy.

She (and all others who are into body modification) make a conscious choice to change their bodies in ways that will garner attention and comment. If you choose to alter yourself in alarming ways, people will indeed by alarmed by it.

Everyone is free to make their own choices be it having filler or having their nose cut off, but absolutely nobody else is required to validate that choice for them.

This is shocking. The surgeon responsible clearly thinks more about money than psychological harm. It is not normal to look like that and no one of sound mind would want to look like that.

It is up to them though. I am not a fan of tan, turkey teeth etc. But I am not them. If they are happy, then they are winning. It is not hurting me...but it seems some people on this thread don't want this lady to exist.
