AIBU to think asking for spousal maintenance in a 50/50 custody arrangement with no maintenance due from either party is just plain entitlement?

@atotalshambles I think I better message to give to your daughters would be to carry on working in some capacity after children and retain some sort of financial independence in case of divorce.

No more then 10k a year in england that is the cost of a DAILY cleaner and a full time housekeeper who lives in tbe house on average 23k. The housekeper points is a terrible example it gets ripped apart in court. Can you imagine if a judge said okay you want to be compensated for that, wouldnt be 170k. It devalues women they even if at home can and do more then housekeeping. Very very weak argument

How do you get a daily housekeeper for 10k? 2 hours a day for a cleaner is over £15k a year. I can only assume you are thinking of trafficking some poor woman and having them live in a hut in your back garden 🙄

And no you can’t get live in full time staff for £23k a year. that’s less than minimum wage wage and you have to have a spare room, bathroom and car. Also who is going to cover the 5 .6 weeks ( legal minimum ) holiday and the other 128 hours a week when they are not working?

You forget that SAHM care for their home and children 24/7, 52 weeks a year. You needs several staff to cover these hours.

Yeah live in is key avearge wage uk is 26k i dont think you grasps the maths.

Live in negates wage amount. Its a very good salary.

No they dont they do more then provide housekeeping services why on earth would you make cleaning the indicator of a womens worth. It is sick.
