Scared of what labour will do

Is anyone else terrified of what labour will enforce. The tax on farmers. Will they means test pip? Will they tax state pension more? What else will they do and where will it all end. They ruthlessly without no care took away the winter fuel allowance. Means testing and taxing state pension would massively impact my family

Typical though, Philp on Sky couldn't bring himself to approve, even the slightest praise was beyond him...

Sounds like he might be on here too....

People are needy for approval on this thread..

I didn't see Philp on Sky, but the reaction across MN seems mainly positive from what I can see.
Is there a particular thread that you think is negative?

You seem to be actively seeking negativity where there is none.

Some posters have gone a bit quiet.

Which posters?

As are most of the usual Tory supporting papers and editorials.... early days though but Royal visit was played well.

Yes. There were quite a few Labour MPs who objected strongly to Trump’s last State visit in 2017, including David Lammy who said he would be out on the streets protesting.
Will a lot of MPs object to the forthcoming visit, I wonder?

Tiredalwaystired · 28/02/2025 13:04

I think there is more risk to the UK this time round sadly. I doubt their personal views have changed one bit but the greater risk to our security and Trumps unpredictably might mean a change in behaviour. Who knows?

CurlewKate · 28/02/2025 14:23

In an ideal world I would prefer no negotiation at all with Trump. And no involvement from the RF. But in the world we live in? I think the UK's uplayed a diplomatic blinder.
