I'd love a utility room. It would be great to have my Lakeland heated airer hidden away from view.

I'd also love a bidet. My bathroom, alas, simply isn't big enough. I'm British, but it does surprise me a bit that they've never really taken off in this country. I'd love to have a freshen up down below, just whenever.

Anyway, what about you?

Utility and third bedroom bigger as youngest dc is crammed in box room.

Natsku · 21/02/2025 18:43

A study and a spare bedroom, especially the spare bedroom - its getting harder to accommodate guests now the children are bigger. My parents are coming this summer and I have no idea where they'll sleep.

I'd also like to convert the loft above the garage into something, could be a summer bedroom for guests I suppose.

Whattheduck · 21/02/2025 18:44

A nice big hallway so I could put a beautiful Christmas tree in it

VeganStar · 21/02/2025 18:44

A walk in pantry/larder. I’m going to get this done this year. I’m getting my bro in law to put shelves up under the stairs.

A bigger porch than I have now. I’m also going to have this done this year by my db and dbil.

a utility room but no room to put it.

a walled garden.

a loft conversion.

a cellar.

a kitchen diner.

im only likely to get the larder and the porch but ill be glad of them.

SharpTiger · 21/02/2025 18:44

Keanu Reeves.

TeenLifeMum · 21/02/2025 18:44

My brain is clearly a bit different to all you practical people. I went straight to - a book shelf that opens to a secret snug/library with drinks cabinet and squishy sofas.

Feralbutcute · 21/02/2025 18:44

I would like a bootroom,( ha ha dream on)l live in a shitty little terrace, in a shitty little village, but after reading previous posts I think myself lucky, I do have my own bedroom and my own bathroom . 😂

TicTac80 · 21/02/2025 18:45

Larger rooms for my DCs, a second bathroom/WC, a conservatory/dining room, a front porch thing, and a catio.

Natsku · 21/02/2025 18:45

@JMSA you could install a shower style bidet, that doesn't require any extra room. They're standard here in Finland. Also really useful when you're cleaning the loo!

Trolllol · 21/02/2025 18:46

A glass bottomed suspended heated pool and a long driveway.

Bryonyberries · 21/02/2025 18:46

A utility room and an insulated garden office/room.

As a minor thing I’m having an outdoor socket fitted tomorrow which will make a difference for using things in the garden or even adding lights or water features. I’ve had it on my to do list for ages.

TeenLifeMum · 21/02/2025 18:47

Dh was apparently surprised I didn’t opt for a capybara pen - which is a good shout. Dh wants an American style basement.

Timeforanotheraliasnow · 21/02/2025 18:48

Room to keep our caravan next to the house so we don't have to pay for remote storage. It would give me extra space, another fridge/freezer and somewhere I can go with a lock on the inside to get away from all the fuckwits.

Hwi · 21/02/2025 18:49

If bedouins can freshen up down below at any given moment with no problems, having no toilets, bidets or houses, then so can you. You do have a shower. A bidet in my dream house would put me off putting in an offer, tbh.

Dueanamechange2025 · 21/02/2025 18:49

Utility for me. Main thing this house is missing.

Strawberrycheesecake7 · 21/02/2025 18:49

2 extra bedrooms and an extra room downstairs. This is what we’ll ideally need for the size of family we want. At the moment we’ll have to move if we have more children.

mathanxiety · 21/02/2025 18:50

@countdown64
Same! With mountains too.

SlightlyJaded · 21/02/2025 18:51

I'm pretty content - have a big utility room which I LOVE, but would love an extra bedroom. We have four so one spare in theory, but it's used as our office and I'd love a bedroom to myself occasionally that doubled up as a proper guest room.

And putting silliness and swimming pools and full basements with bowling alleys aside, I would LOVE a craft/writing room all to myself. It would be pink and green and full of shelves and baskets and storage on wheels and stackable things for all my craft and paint supplies. It would have a big surface that was fine to get painty and varnishy on and another desk under a window where I could write. THAT would be dreamy.

I'd also like a little bookshelf lined reading nook.

Biffatcrafts · 21/02/2025 18:53

I would love enough space to have a gym room where I could do my exercises in private and have enough room to dance too. I like exercising but I am old, and wobbly, and feel very out of place, in the way, and self conscious using commercial gyms. I always feel people are looking and thinking 'wtf is she doing here'. 😔

And I love to dance too, but would feel an idiot doing it in a club or something, so I settle for dancing round my small living room when DH is out, and do my 'old ladies' line dance class a couple of times a week. 😂

Titasaducksarse · 21/02/2025 18:53

Utility with dog wash and downstairs loo.
Extension so I can have a fire
Driveway
1 acre...

I just need to move

Yellowrosessmellpetaly · 21/02/2025 18:54

A garden.

spottydinosaur · 21/02/2025 18:54

LittleRedRidingHoody · 21/02/2025 17:32

A Hermes blanket. I have nothing Hermes or remotely designer and it's a terrible idea as would get ruined and it's insanely overpriced and I can't afford it. But I want one so badly 😂

In terms of extending, I would like a gift wrapping room 😂 (never going to happen) ~ more realistically I want a nicer shed with decent storage.

Keep an eye on eBay as some dupes can appear...

I got one for £25 last year and the quality is pretty good. An eagle eyes friend actually thought it was the real thing!

DH keeps saying he'll buy me a Hermes one until I remind him of the price and he quickly retracts 😂

tinkersfig · 21/02/2025 18:56

I'd love a utility room and a downstairs home office. Oh and an orangery. And a double extension. Not much really.

LaPalmaLlama · 21/02/2025 18:57

@JMSA woyld you consider a “bum gun” like you see in the ME vs a traditional bidet?. I’ve heard they’re tricky in the uk due to how our plumbing works but must be possible as I’ve viewed a few houses that had them.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 21/02/2025 18:58

I’d have a pantry, a log burning stove in the front room, and a lift.
